Abstract

Hiperkolesterol merupakan suatu penyakit yang ditandau dengan meningkatknya kadar kolesterol dalam darah dengan kadar >200 mg/dl yang dikarenakan terjadinya kelainan pada metabolisme lemak. Berdasarkan khasiat etnofarmakologi daun sambung nyawa (Gynura procumbens (Lour.) Merr.) dan tomat (Solanum lycopersicum L.) dipercaya dapat menurunkan kadar kolesterol. Tujuan dari penelitian adalah mengetahui kandungan apa saja yang terdapat pada daun sambung nyawa dan buah tomat dan mengetahui khasiat kombinasi ekstrak daun sambung nyawa dan buah tomat, mengetahui dosis efektif dari kombinasi ekstrak daun sambung nyawa dan buah tomat sebagai antikolesterol pada mencit. Penelitian diawali dengan pembuatan ekstrak, skrining fitokimia dan uji antikolesterol. Penelitian menggunakan 28 ekor mencit yang dikelompokkan menjadi 7 kelompok yang diinduksi prophylthiouracil dan pakan tinggi lemak. Pengujian dilakukan selama 35 hari, lalu data yang diperoleh dianalisi menggunakan SPSS (Statistical Product and Service Solutions). Hasil dari pengujian diperoleh 22,6% ekstrak daun sambung nyawa dan 30% ekstrak tomat yang mengandung flavonoid, alkaloid, saponin, tanin, fenol, dan steroid. Ekstrak etanol 96% daun sambung nyawa dosis tunggal dengan dosis 300mg/kgBB mencit mampu menurunkan kadar kolesterol / Hypercholesterolemia is a disease characterized by increased cholesterol levels in the blood with levels > 200 mg/dl due to abnormalities in fat metabolism. Based on the ethnopharmacological properties of sambung nyawa leaves (Gynura procumbens (Lour.) Merr.) and tomatoes (Solanum lycopersicum L.) are believed to reduce cholesterol levels. The purpose of the study was to find out what content was contained in the sambung nyawa leaves and tomato fruit and to know the efficacy of the combination of sambung nyawa leaf extract and tomato fruit, to find out the effective dose of the combination of sambung nyawa leaf extract and tomato fruit as an anticholesterol in mice. The study began with the manufacture of extracts, phytochemical screening and anti-cholesterol testing. The study used 28 mice which were grouped into 7 groups induced by propylthiouracil and high fat diet. The test was carried out for 35 days, then the data obtained was analyzed using SPSS (Statistical Product and Service Solutions). The results of the test showed that 22.6% of the sambung nyawa leaf extract and 30% of the tomato extract contained flavonoids, alkaloids, saponins, tannins, phenols, and steroids. The 96% ethanol extract of sambung nyawa leaves with a dose of 300mg/kg of mice was able to reduce cholesterol levels.
