Abstract

Nonsteroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs) are drugs that have analgesic, antipyretic, and anti-inflammatory properties, with the mechanism of action of inhibiting the action of the ciclooxygenase (COX) enzyme. One example of an NSAID class of drugs is ketorolac, ketorolac is available in injection preparations. In overcoming or limiting the irrational use of drugs, a system is established, namely the Automatic Stop Order (ASO) and applies to certain drugs that are considered strong/potent drugs that require regular reviews. Ketorolac injection is included in the ASO drug list with a maximum use of 5 days. Therefore, researchers conducted a study on the suitability of prescribing ketorolac injection given to hospitalized patients. The research was conducted by retrospective descriptive observation with cross-sectional or data collection method by observing the research object without giving treatment to the subject, but phenomena that had occurred previously systematically and accurately. The time of the study was carried out in May-June 2022 using a random sampling technique of 154 samples. Demographic data obtained based on female gender is greater (53%), the number of age groups is at most 26-35 years (24%), diagnosis or disease complications are more COVID-19 patients 7 people (4.54%), kidney stones , breast cancer and abdominal pain with the same number of 6 people (3.9%). The duration of the use of ketorolac injection is according to the ASO not > 5 days, the maximum use is 1-2 days 90 people (58.44%) with a dose and frequency of 1 to 3 times a day 30 mg, health insurance shows that the most BPJS patients are 44 people ( 28.56%) and the largest number of patients were in the fifth floor treatment room.
