Abstract

Penelitian selanjutnya agar dapat mengembangkan penelitian yang sama pada tempat yang berbeda/Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD) is an atherosclerosis disease on arteries that supply oxygen and nutrients at legs. This disease has an adverse impact on clinical condition, physical function disruption and physical activity reduction. PAD can occur because of type 2 DM complication and the percentage of PAD incidence reaches 30% in the world. According to Yanna in 2020, in Indonesia especially in Mataram city, prevalence of DM patient with PAD was 26,8%. Minisurvey results showed some DM 2 patient did not know about the risk of PAD occur. Objective: To obtain an overview the knowledge level of type 2 DM patients about the risk of PAD occurs in private hospitals in western Indonesia. Method: Quantitative descriptive design with cross sectional approach. Sampling using purposive sampling with 235 sample respondents. The data collection tool is a self-developed questionnaire. Results: This study shows that 52 respondents (22.1%) have good knowledge, 165 respondents (70.2%) have sufficient knowledge level and 18 respondents (7.7%) have less knowledge about the risk of peripheral arterial disease (PAD) occur. Respondents with a sufficient level of knowledge, the average value of correct answers was 67.68%. Recommendation: Hospitals can increase educational programs and supporting facilities. The next research in order to develop the same research in different places.
