Abstract

Latar Belakang : Coronavirus disease atau COVID-19 menyebabkan masyarakat Indonesia harus tinggal di rumah sehingga aktivitas fisik berkurang. Selain itu juga menyebabkan perubahan dari berat badan dikarenakan terjadinya perubahan pola makan, pola tidur, aktivitas fisik, dan stres. Hal ini menyebabkan timbulnya beberapa masalah, salah satunya adalah terganggunya siklus menstruasi. Menstruasi merupakan fase yang dialami setiap remaja wanita tiap bulannya. Gangguan dari siklus menstruasi dapat meningkatkan risiko terjadinya infertilitas, timbulnya penyakit jantung, dan terjadinya diabetes mellitus tipe 2. Tujuan Penelitian : Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah ada hubungan antara tingkat aktivitas fisik dan perubahan berat badan terhadap siklus menstruasi pada masa pandemi COVID-19. Metode Penelitian : Penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi potong lintang terhadap 165 mahasiswi Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Pelita Harapan. Hasil : Dari penelitian ini didapatkan sebanyak 42 responden (25,5%) dengan siklus menstruasi reguler dan 123 responden (74,5%) dengan siklus menstruasi irregular. Gangguan siklus menstruasi terbanyak adalah oligomenorrhea (45,5%). Sebanyak 55,8% melakukan aktivitas fisik ringan, 36,4% sedang, dan 7,9% berat. Responden dengan perubahan berat badan lebih dari 3kg sebesar 33,3%. Terdapat hubungan tidak bermakna antara tingkat aktivitas fisik dan siklus menstruasi (p = 0,203) dan ditemukan hubungan bermakna antara perubahan berat badan kurang atau lebih dari 3kg selama masa pandemi dan siklus menstruasi (p = 0,004) pada mahasiswi Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Pelita Harapan. Kesimpulan : Terdapat hubungan tidak bermakna antara aktivitas fisik dengan siklus menstruasi, sementara terdapat hubungan bermakna antara perubahan berat badan dan siklus menstruasi. Kata Kunci : Tingkat aktivitas fisik, perubahan berat badan, siklus menstruasi, COVID-19, mahasiswi / Background : Coronavirus disease or COVID-19 causes Indonesian to stay at home, this reducing their level of physical activity. It also causes changes in body weight due to alteration in deit, sleeping pattern, physical activity, and stress. This causes emergence of several issues, such as menstrual cycle distruption. Menstruastion is a phase experienced by every teenage woman monthly. The distruption of menstrual cycle may increase the risk of infertility, cardiac issues, and diabetes mellitus type 2 Objective : This study aims to investigate the relationship between level of physical activity and change in body weight towards menstrual cycle during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods : This research uses a cross-sectional method towards 165students in the Faculty of Medicine, Pelita Harapan University. Results : This research found that 42 respondents (25.5%) have regular menstrual cycle and 123 respondents (74.5%) have irregular menstrual cycle. Most menstrual cycle abnormality experienced by respondents is oligomenorrhea (45.5%). As much as 55.8% did light physical activity, 36.4% moderate, and 7.9% vigorous. Respondents with body weight changes more than 3 kg was 33.3% . There was no association between level of physical activity and menstrual cycle was found (P = 0.203) and an association between changes in body weight less or more than to 3 kgs during the pandemic and menstrual cycle (p value = 0.004) in faculty of medicine UPH students. Conclusions : There was no significant association between physical activity and menstrual cycle, while a significant association of changes in body weight and menstrual cycle was found.
