Abstract

Pengelolaan persediaan merupakan salah satu faktor keberhasilan perusahaan menyampaikan produk berkualitas dan tepat waktu ke tangan konsumen. Permasalahan ketidak tepatan waktu kedatangan barang dan permasalahan jumlah persediaan yang berlebihan sangat berpengaruh terhadap tingginya biaya operasional perusahaan. Kendala yang ada pada Hypermart adalah sistem pengadaan barang berdasarkan estimasi kebutuhan (penjualan) sehingga menyebabkan terjadinya jumlah persediaan yang berlebihan atau kekurangan. Oleh karena itu perlu dilakukan perbaikan dalam menentukan jumlah pengadaan barang dengan melakukan penerapan sistem Just In Time (JIT). Dalam penerapan sistem pengadaan berdasarkan Just In Time (JIT), barang akan didatangkan berdasarkan kebutuhan bahan. Dasar pemilihan bahan baku yang akan diterapkan dalam sistem Just In Time adalah bahan baku yang jumlah permintaannya mempunyai Koefisien variansi (Coefficient of Varians) CV< 15%. Dari hasil penerapan sistem Just In Time (JIT) diperoleh penurunan Holding Cost sebesar 41,2% serta penurunan sebesar 9,8 % pada Total Cost / Inventory management is one of the company’s key factors in delivering quality and on-time products to the customers. Issues regarding to time delivery and total amount of inventory significantly affects toward the company’s operational cost. Hypermart faced a constraint in the items procurements which is based on demand (sales) estimation, thus caused excessive or shortage in the inventory. Therefore, it is necessary for an improvement in determining the total inventory by implementing Just In Time system. In the implementation of the Just In Time system, items (barang) will be procured based on the material needed. Basic raw material selection to be applied in the Just In Time system are the raw materials that have total demand with Coefficient of Variance (CV) below 15%. The result of Just In Time system is a decrease in Holding Cost of 41.2% and decrease in Total Cost of 9.8%
