Abstract

Di satu sisi sebuah badan usaha perlu meminimalkan biaya akibat penyimpanan barang, namun di sisi yang lain badan usaha dituntut untuk memenuhi permintaan pelanggan dengan baik dan tepat waktu. Untuk menyeimbangkan antara pemenuhan permintaan dan biaya dari penyimpanan barang, maka diperlukan sebuah peramalan permintaan yang baik. Sayangnya, kebanyakan badan- badan usaha yang kecil (UKM) tidak menerapkan sistem peramalan permintaan dalam usahanya oleh karena ketidaktahuan akan peramalan permintaan dan kegunaannya. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan sebuah aplikasi peramalan permintaan untuk membantu para UKM dalam meramalkan permintaannya tanpa harus mempelajari sendiri metode- metode dalam peramalan. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara terhadap beberapa pemilik UKM dan pengujian aplikasi dilakukan dengan menggunakan data permintaan dari beberapa UKM. Metode peramalan permintaan yang dilakukan menggunakan dua metode, yaitu Brown’s Linear Method dan Linear Moving Average dengan metode kesalahan peramalan MAPE. Aplikasi peramalan permintaan dibuat menggunakan Visual Basic 6 dan SQL Server 2000. Melalui penelitian ini diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa dengan adanya aplikasi peramalan permintaan, maka para UKM yang masih awam dengan peramalan dapat melakukan peramalan permintaan dengan lebih mudah dan murah. UKM- UKM tersebut tidak perlu mempelajari metode- metode peramalan sendiri ataupun membeli aplikasi peramalan yang mahal, namun cukup menggunakan aplikasi peramalan ini / On the one hand, an enterprise needs to minimize costs due to storage of goods, but on the other enterprise is required to meet customer demand properly on time. To balance between fulfilling the demand and cost of storage of goods, it would require a good demand forecasting. Unfortunately, most small enterprises (SMEs) do not implement demand forecasting system in its efforts because of ignorance of forecasting demand and usefulness. Therefore, it needs a demand forecasting application to assist SMEs in forecasting demand without having to learn in forecasting methods on their own. Data was collected through interviews with some of the owners of SMEs and application testing was done using data demands of some SMEs. Demand forecasting method used was Brown's Linear Method and Linear Moving Average forecasting error MAPE method. Demand forecasting application was created using Visual Basic 6 and SQL Server 2000. Through this study it is concluded that with the application of forecasting demand, then the SMEs that still new to forecasting demand can do more easily and cheaply. They do not need to learn the methods of forecasting on their own or buy expensive forecasting applications, but simply use this forecasting application
