Abstract

Prestasi akademik merupakan suatu alat ukur untuk menentukan hasil dari kemampuan individu dalam dunia pendidikan. Motivasi berprestasi suatu dorongan yang berada dalam diri individu untuk mencapai prestasi. Banyak faktor dapat mempengaruhi prestasi akademik diantaranya ialah motivasi berprestasi dan kontrol diri. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara motivasi berprestasi dan kontrol diri dengan prestasi akademik pada mahasiswa di universitas x Surabaya. Penelitian kuantitatif ini dilakukan dengan teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan skala motivasi berprestasi dan kontrol diri dengan reliabilitas sebesar 0,750 dan 0,768. Prestasi akademik dalam hal ini diukur berdasarkan indeks prestasi kumulatif (IPK) mahasiswa. Subjek penelitian adalah 100 orang mahasiswa universitas x di kota Surabaya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada hubungan yang signifikan antara motivasi berprestasi dengan prestasi akademik dengan nilai signifikansi (p) = 0,963 > 0,05 serta tidak terdapat hubungan antara kontrol diri dengan prestasi akademik dengan nilai (r = 0,094; p = 0,353). Tidak adanya hubungan antara motivasi berprestasi dengan prestasi akademik disebabkan karena faktor eksternal yang mempengaruhi selama pengambilan data, faktor minat dan bakat, saran dan fasilitas, faktor lingkungan dan status sosial ekonomi. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberi kontribusi bagi mahasiswa agar dapat meningkatkan motivasi berprestasi dan kontrol diri terhadap mahasiswa yang memiliki nilai akademik yang kurang baik / Academic achievement is a measurement to determine the results of individual abilities in the world of education. Achievement motivation is an impulse that is within the individual to achieve achievement. Many factors can affect academic achievement including achievement motivation and self control. The study aims to determine the relationship between achievement motivation and self-control with academic achievement in students at Surabaya x University. This quantitative study was conducted using data collection techniques using achievement motivation and self-control scales with reliability of 0.750 and 0.768. Academic achievement in this case is measured based on the student's Grade-point average (GPA). The research subjects were 100 students at x university in Surabaya city. The results showed that there was no significant relationship between achievement motivation and academic achievement with a significance value (p) = 0.963> 0.05 and there was no relationship between academic achievement and self-control with a value (r = 0.094; p = 0.353). There is no relationship between motivation and the Cumulative Achievement Index due to external factors that influence during data collection, factors of interest and talent, advice and facilities, environmental factors and socioeconomic status. This research is expected to be able to contribute to students in order to increase achievement motivation and self control of students who have poor academic grades
