Abstract

Banyak fenomena di masyarakat menunjukkan kurangnya penerimaan diri pada perempuan. Penerimaan diri berkaitan erat dengan body image dan perbandingan sosial. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh body image dan perbandingan sosial terhadap penerimaan diri remaja putri di Surabaya. Pengumpulan data penelitian secara kuantitaif menggunakan kuesioner. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 100 remaja putri di Surabaya. Instrumen penelitian terbagi menjadi tiga macam skala, yakni skala penerimaan diri (α = 0.836), skala body image (α = 0.721), dan skala perbandingan sosial (α = 0.710). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa body image berpengaruh terhadap penerimaan diri sebesar 6.9% (p = 0.011) dan perbandingan sosial tidak berpengaruh terhadap penerimaan diri (p = 0.250). Penerimaan diri individu tampaknya lebih mengarah pada persepsi individu terhadap dirinya sendiri sehingga individu tidak membandingkan dirinya dengan orang lain. Hasil uji regresi body image dan perbandingan sosial terhadap penerimaan diri secara simultan menunjukkan hasil yang signifikan (p = 0.020) dengan nilai R square sebesar 8.3%. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pengaruh body image dan perbandingan sosial terhadap penerimaan diri tergolong kecil, masih ada beberapa faktor lain yang memengaruhi penerimaan diri remaja putri. Remaja putri harus belajar menerima dirinya agar dapat lebih bahagia dalam menjalani hidupnya / Many phenomena in society show low acceptance on women. The results of this study indicate that body image influences selfacceptance by 6.9% (p = 0.011), and social comparison does not influence selfacceptance (p = 0.250). Self-acceptance seems to be more directed at the individual's perception of herself so that the individual does not compare herself with others. The results of regression test of the body image and social comparison on self-acceptance showed significant results (p = 0.020) with R square value of 8.3%. This study shows the influence of the body image and social comparison on self-acceptance are relatively small, there are still several other factors that influence self-acceptance of teenage girl. Teenage girl must learn to accept themselves so they can be happier in living their lives
