Abstract

MRC Surabaya Hotel is a four star hotel with business segment is a business hotel. So far, the hotel management to assess performance by focusing on revenue and cost efficiency. Assessment of performance by using only the financial aspect alone isnot enough to give accurate results concerning the actual performance of the company because there are many ways in which comapanies that can’t be judged by the size of the financial. However, MRC Hotel already has a plan using the Balanced Scorecard measures that have been run by the hotel. This study aims to determine whether performance-based assessment strategy using the Balanced Scorecard concept was designed it according to the Hotel in accordance with the MRC's strategic targets MRC Hotel. From the research results using the Balanced Scorecard concept can be concluded that there should be improvements in the indicators that there are two perspectives on the financial perspective and customer perspective. Two perspectives, namely, internal business process perspective and learning and growth perspective is quite good and in line with strategic objectives in each perspective. With the illustration resulting from this study, suggesting that the MRC Hotel is ready to run in accordance with the concept of Balanced Scorecard The Balanced Scorecard has designed to make improvements in some perspective for performance assessment can be made more structured and representative than the traditional Performance Appraisal / Hotel MRC Surabaya merupakan hotel bintang empat dengan segmentasi bisnisnya adalah hotel bisnis. Selama ini pihak manajemen hotel melakukan penilaian kinerja dengan berfokus pada pendapatan dan efisiensi biaya. Penilaian kinerja dengan hanya menggunakan aspek keuangan saja tidak cukup untuk memberikan hasil yang akurat mengenai kinerja perusahaan yang sebenarnya karena ada banyak hal dalam perusahaan yang tidak dapat dinilai dengan ukuran keuangan. Hotel MRC sudah mempunyai rancangan Balanced Scorecard dengan menggunakan ukuran-ukuran yang telah dijalankan oleh hotel. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah penilaian kinerja berbasis strategi dengan menggunakan konsep Balanced Scorecard yang telah dirancangkan Hotel MRC telah sesuai dengan sasaran strategi Hotel MRC. Dari hasil penelitian dengan menggunakan konsep Balanced Scorecard dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa harus ada penyempurnaan pada indikator yang ada pada dua perspektif yaitu perspektif keuangan dan perspektif pelanggan. Dua perspektif lainnya, yaitu perspektif proses bisnis internal dan perspektif pembelajaran dan pertumbuhan sudah cukup baik dan sesuai dengan sasaran strategi di masing-masing perspektif. Dengan gambaran yang dihasilkan dari penelitian ini, menunjukkan bahwa Hotel MRC telah siap untuk menjalankan konsep Balanced Scorecard sesuai dengan Balanced Scorecard yang telah dirancangkan dengan melakukan penyempurnaan pada beberapa perspektif agar penilaian kinerja yang dilakukan dapat lebih terstruktur dan representative dibandingkan dengan penilaian kinerja secara tradisional
