Abstract

Akne vulgaris merupakan masalah kesehatan yang sering terjadi pada remaja dan dewasa muda yang ditandai dengan komedo, papul, pustul, nodul, dan kista. Akne vulgaris terjadi karena berbagai faktor seperti makanan dan obesitas. Makanan dengan indeks glikemik tinggi dapat meningkatkan produksi sebum. Obesitas sering disertai dengan hiperandrogenisme yang dapat meningkatkan insiden dari akne vulgaris. Rasio lingkar pinggang tinggi badan merupakan salah satu paremeter obesitas yang dapat digunakan secara universal tanpa dibatasi oleh usia, jenis kelamin, dan etnis. Beberapa penelitian menyatakan terdapat hubungan antara obesitas dengan ake vulgaris, namun masih sedikit penelitian yang menggunakan parameter rasio lingkar pinggang tinggi badan, khususnya pada mahasiswa kedokteran. Penelitian ini menggunakan studi potong lintang (cross- sectional) dengan menggunakan metode analitik komparatif kategorik tidak berpasangan. Uji statistic penelitian ini menggunakan uji Chi Square dan data akan diolah mengguakan program SPSS versi 26.0. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 150 subjek maahsiswa/i FK UPH. Hasil penelitian yang didapat adalah hubungan antara rasio lingkar pinggang tinggi badan dengan akne vulgaris pada mahasiswa FK UPH dengan nilai signifikan P = 0,029 dan OR = 2,316 (95% CI 1,147-4,677). Terdapat hubungan yang bermakna antara rasio lingkar pinggang tinggi badan dengan akne vulgaris pada mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Pelita Harapan. rasio lingkar pinggang tinggi badan, akne vulgaris, obesitas / Acne vulgaris is a health problem that often occurs in adolescents and young adults characterized by comedones, papules, pustules, nodules, and cysts. Acne vulgaris occurs due to various factors, such as food and obesity. Food with a high glycemic index can increase sebum production. Obesity is often accompanied by hyperandrogenism which can increase the incidence of acne vulgaris. Waist to height ratio is one of the parameter of obesity that can be used universally without limited by age, gender, and ethnicity. Several studies supporting the statement that there is a relationship between obesity with acne vulgaris, but still few researchers used the waist to height parameter, especially on medical students. This research will use cross sectional study. The statistical test is using Chi Square method and the data will processed using the SPSS 26.0 program. The sample of this research will be 160 medical students in UPH. There was a significant relationship between waist to height ratio and acne vulgaris in medical student of FK UPH. The results were found in relationship between waist to height ratio and acne vulgaris in medical student of FK UPH is P = 0,029 and OR = 2,316 (95% CI 1,147-4,677).
