Abstract

Kemajuan media menawarkan kebebasan untuk mendapatkan informasi yang didukung oleh berbagai motif baik itu media tradisional ataupun digital. Media tradisional yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah talk show televisi dan media digitalnya adalah podcast Youtube. Secara umum, keduanya melibatkan konsep yang sama, hanya saja ditampilkan dalam platform yang berbeda. Penggunaan motif mengarahkan alasan atau keinginan seseorang untuk menggunakan media, sedangkan efek dari penggunaan media tersebut akan menimbulkan kepuasan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penyebab beralihnya penonton yang menikmati media talk show televisi menjadi penonton podcast di Youtube dan mengetahui tingkat kepuasannya. Dengan menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif, penelitian ini melibatkan 108 responden dengan rentang umur 15-44 tahun untuk mendalami dimensi motif dan kepuasan informasi, motif dan kepuasan identitas pribadi, motif dan kepuasan hiburan dan motif dan kepuasan integrasi dan interaksi sosial. Berdasarkan empat kategori dimensi yang disurvei, motif pengguna talk show televisi paling tinggi berada pada motif dan kepuasan identitas pribadi dengan hasil nilai mean gratification obtained 3,868. Sedangkan pada pengguna podcast Youtube, motif dan kepuasan yang paling dicari adalah motif dan kepuasan informasi dengan hasil nilai mean gratification obtained 4,184. Penyebab dari adanya peralihan penggunaan media dan podcast Youtube lebih digemari adalah karena kemudahan yang ditawarkan oleh media berbasis internet. / Media progress offers freedom to obtain information supported by various motives, both traditional and digital media. The traditional media used in this research is television talk shows and the digital media is YouTube podcasts. In general, both involve the same concept, only displayed on different platforms. The use of motives directs a person's reason or desire to use the media, while the effects of using the media will lead to satisfaction. This study aims to find out the causes of the shift of viewers who enjoy television talk show media to become podcast viewers on Youtube and find out their level of satisfaction. Using quantitative research methods, this study involved 108 respondents with an age range of 15-44 years to explore the dimensions of information motives and satisfaction, personal identity motives and satisfaction, entertainment motives and satisfaction and integration motives and social interaction satisfaction. Based on the four dimensional categories surveyed, the highest motives for television talk show users were in the motives and satisfaction of personal identity with the result of a mean gratification obtained of 3.868. Meanwhile, for YouTube podcast users, the most sought-after motives and satisfaction are information motives and satisfaction with the result of a mean gratification obtained of 4.184. The cause of the shift in the use of YouTube media and podcasts to being more popular is due to the convenience offered by internet-based media.
