Abstract

Latar Belakang: Pendidikan kedokteran di Indonesia merupakan program studi yang memiliki tujuan untuk menghasilkan dokter yang berbudi luhur, profesional, dan memenuhi Standar Kompetensi Dokter Indonesia (SKDI). Dalam upaya mencapai tujuan tersebut, mahasiswa kedokteran harus mampu menguasai teori-teori dengan cakupan yang luas. Berbagai tekanan dan tuntutan akademik dapat menyebabkan timbulnya gangguan psikologis. Salah satu gangguan psikologis yang dapat terjadi di kalangan mahasiswa kedokteran adalah kecemasan. Kecemasan dapat memicu gangguan pencernaan termasuk Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD). Beberapa penelitian terkait dengan kecemasan dan GERD telah dilakukan namun masih terdapat perbedaan. Oleh karena lekatnya kecemasan pada mahasiswa kedokteran yang dapat berpotensi memicu gejala GERD, maka penelitian ini disusun sebagai upaya untuk mengetahui lebih jelas pengaruh tingkat kecemasan terhadap gejala GERD pada kalangan mahasiswa kedokteran. Tujuan Penelitian: Mengetahui pengaruh tingkat kecemasan terhadap gejala Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) pada mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Pelita Harapan. Metode Penelitian: Penelitian ini menggunakan studi analitik dengan pendekatan potong lintang (cross sectional). Responden pada penelitian ini adalah 106 mahasiswa aktif di tahap akademik Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Pelita Harapan. Pengambilan data dilakukan secara non-probabilitas, yaitu sampel convenience dengan membagikan kuesioner secara daring menggunakan google forms. Penelitian ini menggunakan fisher's exact sebagai uji statistik. Hasil: Data menunjukkan dari total 123 sampel yang ikut serta dalam penelitian, sebanyak 47 sampel menderita kecemasan dengan 11 sampel diantaranya memiliki kemungkinan menderita Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD). Kesimpulan: Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa tingkat kecemasan mempengaruhi gejala Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) pada mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Pelita Harapan. In an effort to achieve this goal, medical students must be able to master a wide range of theories. Various academic pressures and demans can lead to psychological disorders. One of the psychological disorders that can occur among medical students is anxiety. Anxiety can trigger digestive disorders including Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD). Several studies related to anxiety and GERD have been conducted but there are still differences. Because of the attachment of anxiety in medical students that can potentially trigger GERD symptoms, this study was conducted as an effort to find out more clearly the effect of anxiety level on GERD symptoms among medical students. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of anxiety level on Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) symptoms in medical students of Faculty of Medicine, Pelita Harapan University. Method: This study used an analytical study with a cross sectional approach. Respondents in this study were 106 active students in the academic stage of Faculty of Medicine, Pelita Harapan University. Data will be collected by non-probability, namely convenience sample by distributing questionnaires online using google forms. This study used fisher's exact as a statistical test. Results: The data shows that among 123 samples involved in this study, there were 47 samples suffering from anxiety with 11 samples of which may suffering from Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD). Conclusion: Level of anxiety affects Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) symptoms in medical students of Faculty of Medicine, Pelita Harapan University.
