Abstract

Latar Belakang : Kejadian sindroma pramenstruasi atau premenstrual syndrome (PMS) terjadi pada 47,8% perempuan berusia reproduktif di seluruh dunia dan 20% diantaranya ditemukan memiliki kejadian sindroma pramenstruasi yang berat. Kejadian sindroma pramenstruasi menyebabkan berkurangnya kualitas hidup penderitanya, meningkatkan penggunaan fasilitas kesehatan, dan penurunan produktivitas. Penelitian di Taiwan mendapatkan kesimpulan bahwa aktivitas yoga meringankan gejala sindroma pramenstruasi. Penelitian ini menilai apakah aktivitas yoga berhubungan dengan kejadian sindroma pramenstruasi dengan alat ukur kuesioner Premenstrual Syndrome Scale (PMSS) pada populasi di Indonesia. Metode : Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian analitik komparatif kategorik tidak berpasangan, yang menggunakan pendekatan potong lintang. Teknik pengambilan sampel akan menggunakan sampel insidental dan alat ukur dari penelitian ini akan menggunakan kuesioner Premenstrual Syndrome Scale (PMSS). Hasil : Hasil penelitian dari 192 perempuan dibagi menjadi dua kelompok, yaitu; perempuan yang aktif melakukan aktivitas yoga (51 responden) dan perempuan yang tidak aktif melakukan aktivitas yoga (141 responden). Kejadian sindroma pramenstruasi lebih banyak kepada 59,8% responden tidak yoga dan 9,9% pada responden yoga ( p value <0,000 dan OR 0,134, 95% CI). Kesimpulan : Kejadian sindroma pramenstruasi lebih banyak secara bermakna pada repsonden tidak yoga Kata Kunci : Yoga, Sindroma pramenstruasi, Derajat keparahan, Kejadian Sindroma Pramenstruasi / Background : Premenstrual syndrome occurs in 47,8% of females of reproductive age around the world and 20% of them have a severe premenstrual syndrome. The premenstrual syndrome causes a lower quality of life, increase access to health facilities, and decrease productivity. Study in Taiwan conclude that yoga activity relieve premenstrual symptoms. This study wants to see if there relation between yoga activity and premenstrual syndrome using Premenstrual Syndrome Scale (PMSS) in Indonesian population Method : This is a cross-sectional study with unpaired categorical comparative analytic method, using accidental sampling technique to determine the respondent and use Premenstrual Syndrome Scale (PMSS) as a questionnaire to measure premenstrual symptoms. Result : This study included 192 respondents that were divided into a group of active yoga female (51 respondents) and a female who did not (141 respondents). The premenstrual syndrome is higher in 59,8% of respondents who did not do yoga actively than 9,9% of respondents who actively do yoga (p-value of 0,000 and Odds Ratio of 95% CI).
