Abstract

Kemampuan membaca adalah kemampuan dasar yang harus dimiliki oleh siswa sejak Sekolah Dasar. Kemampuan membaca yang diharapkan dari siswa kelas satu SD adalah kemampuan membaca permulaan. Fokus dari kemampuan permulaan adalah kemampuan melek huruf yaitu siswa mengenal lambang huruf dan dapat membunyikannya. Siswa kelas satu SD dengan kemampuan membaca permulaan yang baik juga harus membaca dengan lancar dan memahami kata atau teks kalimat sederhana yang dibaca. Berdasarkan observasi pada satu Sekolah Dasar di Tangerang, ditemukan siswa kelas satu SD masih kurang dalam membaca permulaan sehingga diperlukan peran guru untuk dapat mengembangkan kemampuan membaca permulaan siswa. Berdasarkan fakta yang ditemukan di lapangan, guru memilih untuk menerapkan strategi membaca nyaring pada siswa kelas satu SD. Guru dalam memilih dan menerapkan strategi juga harus berlandaskan pada pandangan bahwa siswa adalah Imago Dei. Tujuan penulisan paper ini adalah untuk memaparkan penerapan strategi membaca nyaring terhadap kemampuan membaca siswa kelas satu SD. Metode penelitian yang dilakukan adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, melalui langkah-langkah strategi membaca nyaring terlihat penerapan strategi membaca nyaring terhadap kemampuan membaca siswa kelas satu SD. Adapun saran untuk penelitian selanjutnya yaitu dapat menerapkan strategi membaca nyaring lebih dari sekali untuk melihat pengaruhnya pada kemampuan membaca siswa SD./ The ability to read is a basic skill that must be possessed by students since elementary school. The expected reading ability of first grade elementary school students is the ability to read beginning. The focus of initial ability is literacy skills, namely students recognize letter symbols and can sound them. First grade elementary school students with good pre-reading skills must also read fluently and understand simple words or sentence texts that are read. Based on observations at an elementary school in Tangerang, it was found that first grade elementary school students were still lacking in initial reading so that the teacher's role was needed to be able to develop students' initial reading skills. Based on the facts found in the field, the teacher chose to apply the strategy of reading aloud to the first graders of elementary school. Teachers in choosing and implementing strategies must also be based on the view that students are Imago Dei. The purpose of writing this paper is to describe the application of reading aloud strategies to the reading ability of first grade elementary school students. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. Based on the results of the study, through the steps of the reading aloud strategy, it can be seen that the implementation of the reading aloud strategy on the reading ability of first grade elementary school students. The suggestion for further research is to apply the strategy of reading aloud more than once to see its effect on the reading ability of Avate Windows Elementary.
