Abstract

Kemampuan berpikir kritis adalah potensi yang dimiliki manusia untuk memaksimalkan proses belajar. Pembelajaran yang bersifat abstrak penting dipahami siswa dengan cara memaksimalkan pola berpikir kritis. Hal ini menjadi tugas guru sebagai fasilitator untuk mendesain model pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan karakteristik siswa. Penelitian ini dilakukan di salah satu sekolah Kristen di Lampung dan bertujuan untuk memaparkan penerapan model Think, Pair, and Share berbasis alat peraga untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Banyak siswa yang diteliti dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 24 orang. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif deskriptif. Kemampuan berpikir kritis adalah anugerah yang diberikan Allah agar manusia bisa melakukan proses belajar dengan baik. Kemampuan inilah yang membuat manusia memiliki keunikan. Keunikan yang dimiliki dapat mempengaruhi bagaimana cara ia berpikir dan belajar. Hasil dari proses tersebut akan menghasilkan pengetahuan yang tentunya harus berdasar pada kebenaran Alkitabiah. Seorang guru Kristen memiliki peran dan tanggung jawab dalam memfasilitasi siswa untuk memahami konsep dasar melalui pengembangan pola berpikir kritis. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model TPS berbasis alat peraga dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Saran dari penulis yaitu guru dapat memodifikasi alat peraga dengan teknologi lain, dan penerapan model TPS bisa dilakukan lebih dari dua sesi pembelajaran untuk hasil yang maksimal. Abstract learning is important for students to understand by maximizing critical thinking patterns. It is the task of the teacher as a facilitator to design a learning model that is in accordance with the characteristics of students. This research was conducted at a Christian school in Lampung and aims to describe the application of the Think, Pair, and Share model based on teaching aids to improve students' critical thinking skills. There were 24 students studied in this research. The research method used is the descriptive-qualitative method. The ability to think critically is a gift given by God so that humans can carry out the learning process well. This ability is what makes humans unique. Student uniqueness can affect how they think and learn. The result of this process will be knowledge, which based on Biblical truth. A Christian teacher has a role and responsibility in facilitating students' understanding of basic concepts through the development of critical thinking patterns. The results of this research indicate that the application of the TPS model based on teaching aids can improve students' critical thinking skills. The suggestion from the author is that the teacher can modify this teaching aid with other technologies, and the application of the TPS model can be carried out in more than two learning sessions for maximum results.
