Abstract

Kata kunci: HPV, vaksin, pengetahuan, minat, intervensi/ Background: Human papillomavirus (HPV) is one of the most transmitted sexual infection in the world. HPV infection often goes undetected and can develop into HPV-related cancer. Women are ten times more at risk in developing HPV-related cancer. Recommendation for primary prevention of HPV infection mainly focus on vaccination for both men and women from age 9 to 26 years old. However, vaccination coverage in Indonesia still largely depends on education in order to increase knowledge. Henceforth, this study will be conducted to develop an education intervention to increase HPV knowledge and promote vaccination among Indonesian women in catch-up population aged 19-26 years old. Methods: This study utilizes a pretest-posttest design on 43 randomized subjects. Both questionnaires and intervention handout were distributed through social media. Knowledge variable was measured with a valid and reliable questionnaire. Vaccine willingness was measured witth a 10-point Likert scale. Mean differences between pretest and posttest score were analyzed with paired T-Test and Wilcoxon test on SPSS version 26.0 Results: Participants included were women age 19-26 years old who has never received an HPV vaccine previously. Educational handout on HPV vaccination was shown to have a significant impact on knowledege (p <0,001) and willingness (p <0,001) pretest-postttest score improvement. Conclusion: This study shows that education intervention in form of an HPV handout can increase knowledge and willingness on HPV vaccination among women age 19-26 years old.
