Abstract

Latar Belakang: Nyeri punggung bawah (NPB) merupakan keluhan muskuloskeletal yang paling sering ditemukan dan penyumbang beban disabilitas terbesar di dunia. Salah satu faktor resiko terjadinya NPB adalah kondisi berat badan berlebih-obesitas yang ditandai dengan peningkatan indeks massa tubuh (IMT). Hubungan antara IMT dan NPB pada kelompok umur rentan NPB sudah banyak diteliti, tetapi hubungan antara keduanya pada kelompok umur dewasa muda masih kurang diteliti. Sementara itu, sejumlah studi melaporkan bahwa perubahan gaya hidup yang terjadi selama masa pandemi COVID-19 berpotensi meningkatkan angka penderita berat badan berlebih-obesitas, termasuk dalam kelompok umur dewasa muda. Tujuan: Mengetahui hubungan antara IMT dengan NPB pada mahasiswa FK UPH selama masa pandemi COVID-19. Metode: Penelitian akan dilaksanakan dengan metode cross-sectional desain studi analitik komparatif kategorik tidak berpasangan. Bahan penelitian memakai data primer dari pengukuran IMT dan pengisian Nordic Musculoskeletal Questionnaire. Data akan ditabulasi dengan Microsoft Excel, kemudian dianalisa dengan SPSS Statistics. Uji statistik akan menggunakan metode Chi-squared ataupun Fisher’s exact. Hasil: Penelitian melibatkan sejumlah 372 orang sampel dengan 188 orang (50,5%) merupakan penderita NPB. Sebagian besar termasuk dalam kategori IMT < 23 kg/m2 yaitu sejumlah 215 orang (57,8%). Kesimpulan: Hasil penelitian tidak menunjukkan hubungan yang bermakna antara IMT dan NPB pada mahasiswa FK UPH selama masa pandemi COVID-19 (P = 0,420). Referensi: 60 / Background: Low back pain (LBP) is the most common musculoskeletal complaint and the largest contributor to the burden of disability in the world. One of the risk factors for LBP is the condition of overweight-obesity which is characterized by an increase in body mass index (BMI). The relationship between BMI and LBP in the age group susceptible to LBP has been widely studied, the relationship between the two in the young adult age group is still under-researched. Meanwhile, a number of studies report that lifestyle changes that occur during the COVID-19 pandemic have the potential to increase the number of overweight-obese sufferers, including in the young adult age group Objectives: To determine the relationship between BMI and LPB in FK UPH students during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: The research will be carried out using a cross-sectional method of unpaired categorical comparative analytical study design. The research material uses primary data from BMI measurements and Nordic Musculoskeletal Questionnaire. The data will be tabulated with Microsoft Excel, then analyzed with SPSS Statistics. The statistical test will use the Chi-squared or Fischer’s exact method. Result: The study involved a sample of 372 people with 188 people (50.5%) being LBP sufferers. Most of the sample belong to the category of BMI < 23 kg/m2, which is 215 people (57.8%). Conclusion: The results did not show a significant relationship between BMI und LPB in UPH Medical Faculty students during the COVID-19 pandemic (P = 0.420).
