Abstract

Discipline is behavior that teachers and school expect from the students to support the learning process. Meanwhile, what the researcher found in a classroom were students in were coming late to the class, speaking whenever they wanted, going out without teacher’s permission and coming to class without any preparation. Those behaviors considered as discipline problem because those affected the teaching and learning process as much time wasted just to wait all the students being ready in class’ activities, many small talks that not really important and disturbed both teacher and other students’ concentration. In order to improve the students’ discipline, the researcher decided to implemented classroom procedure. This researcher conducted a research in one of the Christian Schools in Tangerang with 18 students in Grade IX. This researched used Classroom Action Research with Pelton Model and conducted from 16th of July 2018 –27th of August 2018. The improvement of students’ discipline measured by four indicators: students follow classroom procedures, students pay good attention along the learning process in classroom, students maximize the time of learning in the classroom and students respect other students in classroom activities. The instruments used to collect the data were students’ checklist, mentor teacher’s checklist and teacher’s Reflection Journal. The result showed that the implementation of classroom procedure could improve students’ discipline by applying all the steps of classroom procedure consistently. All the instruments also supported that the students had good improvement in their discipline after implementing the classroom procedure in the classroom. / Disiplin adalah perilaku yang di harapkan guru dan sekolah terhadap siswa untuk mendukung proses pembelajaran. Sedangkan, apa yang ditemukan peneliti di sebuah kelas adalah siswa datang terlambat, berbicara semau mereka, keluar kelas tanpa izin dan datang ke kelas tanpa persiapan apapun. Perilaku-perilaku tersebut tergolong sebagai masalah kedisiplinan karena perilaku-perilaku tersebut mempengaruhi proses belajar dan mengajar dimana ada banyak waktu yang terbuang hanya untuk menunggu seluruh siswa siap untuk memulai aktivitas kelas, banyak percakapan-percakapan yang tidak terlalu penting dan hal-hal tersebut mengganggu konsentari guru dan siswa-siswa lain. Untuk meningkatkan kedisiplinan siswa, peneliti memutuskan untuk menerapkan prosedur kelas. Peneliti melakukan penelitian ini di salah satu sekolah kristen yang ada di Tangeang terhadap 18 siswa kelas IX. Penelitian ini menggunakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas model Pelton dan dilakukan mulai dari 16 Juli 2018 – 27 Agustus 2018. Meningkatnya kedisiplinna siswa diukur dengan empat indikator: siswa mengikuti prosedu-prosedur kelas, siswa memperhatikan dengan baik selama pembelajaran berlangsung, siswa memaksimalkan waktu pembelajaran di dalam kelas dan siswa menghargai siswa lain dalam aktivitas kelas. Instumen yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data adalah ceklis siswa, ceklis guru mentor dan jurnal refleksi. Hasil dari data yang ada menunjukan bahwa penerapan prosedur kelas dapat meningkatkan kedisiplinan siswa dengan melakukan semua langkah-langkah dari penerapan prosedur kelas dengan konsisten. Semua instrumen juga mendukung para siswa untuk mendapatkan peningkatan yang baik dalam hal kedisilinan setelah diterapkannya prosedur kelas.
