Abstract

Latar belakang: Akne vulgaris adalah kondisi ketika terjadi peradangan bersifat kronis yang ditandai dengan timbulnya komedo, papul, nodul dan pustul. Akne vulgaris dapat ditemukan di daerah seperti wajah, dada, punggung dan leher. Di beberapa negara, berdasarkan segala usia dan jenis jerawat yang dialami remaja mencapai 35%-100% pada daerah tertentu. Menurut American Academy of Dermatology Association (AAD), salah satu pemicu jerawat adalah stres. Stres yang dialami dewasa muda mengalami peningkatan yang lebih tinggi dengan orang dewasa. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Hubungan tingkat stres dengan tingkat keparahan akne vulgarispada Mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Pelita Harapan angkatan 2019–2021. Metode Penelitian: Penelitian dilakukan melalui google form yang disebarkan kepada mahasiswa fakultas kedokteran Universitas Pelita Harapan angkatan 2019-2021 sebanyak 129 responden yang akan mengisi kuesioner Preceived Stress Scale (PSS) dan Global Acne Grading System (GAGS). Hasil dan Pembahasan: Dari 129 responden, sebanyak 86 responden memenuhi inklusi. Hasil uji statistik dengan uji Chi-Square menunjukkan terdapat hubungan yang bermakna antara stres dengan akne vulgaris pada mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Pelita Harapan angkatan 2019–2021 dengan p-value = 0,035 dan OR = 8,864 dengan responden mayoritas mengalami stres sedang dan akne vulgaris derajat sedang. Hal ini dikarenakan adanya peningkatan dari ACTH dimana akan mempengaruhi produksi dari sebum dan menyebabkan terjadinya akne vulgaris./Background: Acne vulgaris is a condition when there is a chronic inflammation characterized by the appearance of comedones, papules, nodules, and pustules. Acne vulgaris can be found on areas such as the face, chest, back and neck. In some countries, based on all ages and types of acne experienced by adolelscents reaches 35%-100% in certain areas. According to the American Academy of Dermatology Association (AAD), one of the triggers of acne is stress. Stress experienced by young adults has a higher increase with adults. Aim: This study aims to determine the relationship between stress and acne vulgaris in Students of the Faculty of Medicine University of Pelita Harapan for the 2019–2021. This study is going to beconducted to determine the relationship between stress level and severity of acne vulgaris in Students of the Faculty of Medicine University of Pelita Harapan for the 2019–2021. Methods: The research was conducted through a google form distributed to students of the medical faculty of University of Pelita Harapan class 2019–2021 as many as 129 respondents who will fill out the Perceived Stress Scale(PSS) and Global Acne Grading System (GAGS) questionnaires. Result and Discussion: From 129 respondents, 86 respondents met inclusion. The results of statistical test using the Chi-Square test showed that there was a significant relationship between stress and acne vulgaris in students of the Faculty of Medicine, Univeristy Pelita Harapan class 2019–2021 with p-value = 0.035 and OR = 8.864 with the majority of respondents experiencing moderate stress amd moderate degree of acne vulgaris. This is due to an increase in ACTH which will affect the production of sebum and cause acne vulgaris.
