Abstract
In the learning process, teachers have an important role as a motivator in increasing students learning motivation. There are still many students who have less learning motivation due to internal and external factors. Christian teachers must motivate and guide students to walk in god's way and prepare the students to become persons that ready to serve God and society. The purpose of this paper is to find out the role of Christian teachers in gaining primary student learning motivation through questioning strategy specifically passive students in primary school. The writer used qualitative descriptive method to obtain data in the field. This paper concludes that a Christian teachers have a very important role in motivating passive students to increase their learning motivation to become active students. The advice in this paper is that teachers need to recognize the students and the condition of the class in order to determine the learning method that is in accordance with the character of the students, further teacher can use creative approach such as the development of problem solving, brain storming, inquiry, and role playing, or the future teacher can collaborate on these strategies and approaches for the success of achieving students to be active in the classroom. Besides that, further researchers can interview the students directly to find out the causes of student inactivity, so that future researchers have strong data in further research.
