Abstract

Market manipulation is one of the capital market crimes that cause losses to investors. Therefore, protection and legal certainty are needed for investors so that they are not afraid to make transactions in the secondary market because that investment affects the country's economy. The purpose of this research is to find out what efforts can undertake by victims of market manipulation to obtain compensation and the role of Financial Services Authority (OJK) and Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) in preventing market manipulation. Using normative legal research, researchers will use secondary data: primary, secondary, and tertiary legal materials supported by raw data (interviews with OJK and capital market legal consultant association) to analyze this. The results of the analysis find there are almost no repressive efforts that victims of the capital market can undertake to get compensation. The effort that can be victims of market manipulation are taking preventive actions in the future so they don’t become victims of capital market manipulation again. In addition, the OJK and IDX as a institutions that play a vital role in the secondary market have taken preventive legal protection measures such as providing education to the public, supervising securities transactions, and making regulations.
