Abstract

The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) under the United Nations (UN) established the Paris Agreement to combat climate change. Ratifying Parties are obligated to create a Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) every five years through the international agreement. As the world’s fifth largest greenhouse gas emitter, Indonesia decided to ratify and be part of the Paris Agreement. This research aims to identify Indonesia’s endeavours after submitting the first NDC and analyze whether or not the implementation of Indonesia’s first NDC aligns with the Paris Agreement’s goals. The theory for this research is liberalism institutionalism, and the concepts are international cooperation, interdependence, and national interest. Moreover, this qualitative research will be analyzed through three steps, data reduction, data display, and conclusion. The data will be collected in the form of a literature study, such as articles, journals, government reports, and more. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of the NDC is quite in line with the Paris Agreement. However, a number of things still need to be improved, such as switching to New and Renewable Energy (EBT), and maximizing the implementation of adaptation programs./ United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) dibawah naungan United Nations (UN) membentuk Perjanjian Paris untuk menghadapi perubahan iklim.
