Abstract

Indonesia merupakan negara dengan beragam kebudayaan. Keberagaman tersebut dapat menjadi sebuah konflik jika tidak dijembatani dengan baik. Proses adaptasi budaya menjadi perlu untuk dilakukan di dalam keberagaman tersebut sehingga mendorong terciptanya sebuah kekompakan di tengah perbedaan budaya. IPDN Jakarta merupakan salah satu institusi pendidikan pemerintah yang di dalamnya terdapat keberagaman budaya. Para praja melakukan berbagai aktivitas secara bersama di IPDN Jakarta. Mereka akan menghadapi proses adaptasi budaya dalam berinteraksi. Ada faktor yang menunjang mereka dalam beradaptasi. Proses adaptasi budaya yang dilakukan oleh praja diharapkan dapat membangun kekompakan di antara praja. Untuk itulah, diperlukan sebuah penelitian yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana proses adaptasi budaya yang dilakukan praja dalam rangka membangun kekompakan di antara mereka. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode penelitian fenomenologi. Pengumpulan data penelitian dilakukan dengan data primer, yaitu wawancara dan observasi, serta data sekunder berupa studi kepustakaan dan dokumentasi. Wawancara dilakukan kepada para praja dan pengerja di IPDN Jakarta. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa para praja melakukan tindakan- tindakan pendekatan untuk melakukan proses adaptasi budaya. Hasil dari proses adaptasi tersebut cenderung mengarah pada akomodasi, hal tersebut yang membuat mereka dapat membangun kekompakan. Para praja mendasarkan kekompakan bersama pada norma dan aturan yang berlaku di IPDN yang akar utamanya adalah Pancasila. / Indonesia is a country with various cultures. This diversity can become a conflict if it is not bridged properly. The process of cultural adaptation is necessary to be carried out within this diversity so as to encourage the creation of cohesiveness in the midst of cultural differences. IPDN Jakarta is one of the government educational institutions in which there is cultural diversity. Praja carry out various activities together at IPDN Jakarta. They will face the process of cultural adaptation in interacting. There are factors that support them in adapting. The process of cultural adaptation carried out by praja is expected to build cohesiveness among praja. For this reason, research is needed which aims to find out how the process of cultural adaptation is carried out by praja to build cohesiveness between them. This study uses a qualitative approach with phenomenological research methods. Research data collection was carried out using primary data, namely interviews and observations, as well as secondary data in the form of literature and documentation studies. Interviews were conducted with civil servants and workers at IPDN Jakarta. The results of the study showed that the praja took approaches to carry out the cultural adaptation process. The results of the adaptation process tend to lead to accommodation, this is what allows them to build cohesiveness. The praja base their collective cohesiveness on the norms and rules that apply in IPDN whose main root is Pancasila.
