Abstract

Tension-Type Headache (TTH) is a type of headache that is common happen in populations in the world. The occurrence of TTH can occur due to many factors, one of which is depression. Depression is a mood and mind disorder that is common in society but must be treated seriously because it can cause severe symptoms that will affect emotional and physical problems. The high prevalence of depression and TTH in the world population is the main reason for this study. High of the activities and thoughts of medical students is a consideration of this research so that it can be reviewed further on the relationship of depression with the incidence of TTH in different populations, namely in co-assistant medical students of UPH. This research is unpaired categorical comparative analytical study with cross sectional research design. Data sampling will be carried out using simple random sampling technique on co-assistant medical students of UPH. The minimum total sample to be obtained for this research is 88 samples. Data are tabulated in Microsoft Excel and analyzed using SPSS. Data analysis is done using Chi-Square test to find out if there is a significant associated between depression and the occurrence of TTH. From 150 subjects obtained, 55,6 % subjects have depression and 75% subjects have TTH. The result of this research shows that there is significant association between depression and the occurrence of TTH co-assistant medical students of UPH (p=0,009, OR: 3,750, CI: 1,342 – 10,481) / Tension-Type Headache (TTH) merupakan jenis nyeri kepala yang umum terjadi pada populasi di dunia. Kejadian TTH dapat terjadi karena banyak faktor salah satunya depresi. Depresi merupakan gangguan suasana hati dan pikiran yang umum terjadi pada masyarakat namun harus ditangani dengan serius karena dapat menyebabkan gejala berat yang akan memengaruhi masalah emosional dan fisik. Tingginya prevalensi depresi maupun TTH di populasi dunia menjadi alasan utama penelitian ini dilakukan. Beratnya aktivitas dan pikiran pada mahasiswa fakultas kedokteran menjadi pertimbangan penelitian agar dapat ditinjau lebih lanjut mengenai hubungan depresi dengan kejadian TTH pada populasi yang berbeda yaitu pada mahasiswa/I kepaniteraan klinik fakultas kedokteran UPH. Penelitian ini berupa studi Penelitian ini berupa studi analitik kategorik tidak berpasangan dengan desain penelitian cross-sectional. Pengambilan sampel akan dilakukan dengan teknik simple random sampling pada mahasiswa/I kepaniteraan klinik FK UPH. Sampel minimal yang dibutuhkan pada penelitian ini adalah sebanyak 88 sampel. Data ditabulasi menggunakan Microsoft Excel dan diolah menggunakan SPSS. Data dianalisis dengan uji Chi-Square untuk melihat apakah terdapat hubungan antara depresi dengan TTH. Dari 150 subjek yang didapatkan, 55,6 % subjek memiliki depresi dan 75% subjek memiliki TTH. Terdapat hubungan yang bermakna antara depresi dengan kejadian TTH pada mahasiswa/I kepaniteraan klinik fakultas kedokteran UPH (p=0,009, OR: 3,750, CI: 1,342 – 10,481)
