Abstract
Copyright infringement has a negative impact on creators as well as moral and economic losses. Films or cinematographic works are works of creation that are protected by Law Number 28 of 2014 concerning Copyright. But the fact is that there are still many people who violate the copyright of a creator. In the digital era, violations against cinematographic works or films are no longer included in VCD/DVD, but in a social media application. Spoilers are interpreted as explaining several parts according to various objects consisting of forms of writing, images, music, or films, which are then uploaded again in cyberspace. Spoiler actions are works of piracy and actions that violate copyright elements, because that action violates the exclusive rights of the creator. The results of the study show that the spoiler case for the film series Layangan Putus by the TikTok account generates quite a large number of viewers. This act was carried out without the knowledge of PT MD Entertainment, as the creator. In this regard, this thesis discusses whether the spoilers for the Layangan Putus film series carried out by the TikTok account constitute an act that infringes on copyright and what efforts can be taken by PT MD Entertainment in tackling the spoilers for the Layangan Putus film series by the TikTok account.
