Abstract

Keragaman budaya diantara deteni di rumah detensi imigrasi atau yang biasa disingkat RuDeNim tentunya dapat menimbulkan terjadinya konflik yang diakibatkan kesalahpahaman. Kesalahpahaman ini dapat terjadi salah satunya karena persepsi yang berbeda dari masing-masing budaya. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan adanya strategi khusus yang dilakukan oleh pihak RuDeNim untuk meminimalisir terjadinya konflik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat bagaimana pihak RuDeNim dalam melakukan manajemen konflik antar budaya. Peneliti menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus melalui wawancara dan observasi yang dilakukan kepada petugas dan juga deteni yang berada di RuDeNim. Teori yang dipakai dalam penelitian ini adalah teori komunikasi antar budaya yang di cetus oleh Edward T.Hall. Dari hasil wawancara ditemukan bahwa pihak RuDeNim melakukan mitigasi konflik melalui pemisahan blok serta melakukan pendekatan yang bersifat vertikal dan horizontal=Intercultural communication that occurs in immigration detention centers or commonly abbreviated as RuDeNim can certainly lead to conflicts resulting from misunderstandings. This misunderstanding can occur because of the different perceptions of each culture. Therefore it is necessary to have a special strategy carried out by RuDeNim to minimize the occurrence of conflicts. This study aims to see how RuDeNim manages intercultural conflict. The researcher uses a qualitative method with a case study approach through interviews and observations conducted with officers and detainees at RuDeNim. The theory used in this study is the theory of intercultural communication initiated by Edward T.Hall. From the results of the interviews it was found that RuDeNim conducted conflict mitigation through block separation and carried out vertical and horizontal approaches
