Abstract

Bekerja sebagai seorang sales dapat memunculkan berbagai tekanan, seperti memikirkan strategi penjualan yang menarik, adanya keluhan hingga penolakan dari pelanggan serta konsekuensi yang harus diterima ketika tidak berhasil memenuhi target. Maka dari itu, penting bagi seorang sales memiliki hardiness personality sehingga mampu menghadapi setiap tekanan dengan lebih baik. Salah satu cara yang dapat dilakukan untuk meningkatkan hardiness personality pada diri salesman adalah melalui gratitude. Untuk itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana pengaruh gratitude terhadap hardiness personality pada bidang profesi salesman. Subjek partisipan adalah sebanyak 217 partisipan yang bekerja sebagai salesman. Penelitian menggunakan alat ukur Skala Bersyukur Indonesia dan Occupational Hardiness Scale. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa gratitude memiliki pengaruh signifikan sebesar .307 (30.7%) terhadap hardiness personality dan 69.3% dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain yang tidak diteliti dalam penelitian ini. Uji korelasi juga dilakukan terhadap kedua variabel menujukkan bahwa kedua variabel memiliki korelasi yang signifikan sebesar r = .554, p<.001. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut maka hipotesis menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan antara gratitude terhadap hardiness personality pada bidang profesi salesman. Dari hasil penelitian maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa semakin tinggi gratitude yang dimiliki oleh salesman terhadap kehidupannya maka akan semakin meningkat pula hardiness personality salesman secara khusus pada pekerjaannya. / Working as a salesman can bring up various pressures, such as thinking of attractive sales strategies, complaints until rejection from customers and the consequences that must be accepted when failing to meet targets. Therefore, it is important for a salesperson to have a hardiness so that they are able to deal with any pressure better. One way that can be to increase the hardiness of the salesman is through gratitude. For this reason, this study aims to find out how gratitude influences hardiness personality in the salesman profession. Participant subjects were 217 participants who worked as salesman. The study used the Skala Bersyukur Indonesia and Occupational Hardiness Scale as measuring instruments. The results showed that gratitude has a significant influence .307 (30.7%) on hardiness personality and 69.3% is influenced by other factors not examined in this study. The correlation test was also carried out on both variables showing that the two variables had a significant correlation of r = .554, p <.001. Based on these results, the hypothesis shows that there is a significant influence between gratitude on hardiness personality in the salesman profession. From the results of the study, it can be concluded that the higher the gratitude that the salesman has for his life, the hardiness personality of the salesman, especially at his job will also increase.
