Abstract

Sebagai salah satu topik dalam mata kuliah pengendalian dan penjaminan mutu, Design of Experiment (DOE) merupakan topik yang menggunakan metode statistik dengan memvariasikan parameter untuk mendapatkan hasil optimal. DOE merupakan topik yang cukup sulit dan memerlukan pemahaman statistik yang baik dan berdasarkan studi pendahuluan yang dilakukan pada 25 mahasiswa teknik industri ditemukan bahwa mahasiswa teknik industri masih kurang memahami statistik dan DOE dengan baik sehingga diperlukan pembelajaran baru untuk memahami topik statistik dan DOE. Tujuan utama dari penelitian ini adalah mengajarkan mahasiswa teknik industri mengenai statistik dan DOE melalui pengembangan konsep produk pesawat kertas dengan peluncur. Pesawat kertas dipilih dikarenakan simplisitas sehingga mahasiswa dapat lebih mudah mereplikasi penelitian untuk memahami topik statistik dan DOE. Eksperimen yang dilakukan untuk mengembangkan konsep produk pesawat kertas. Berdasarkan hasil pengolahan data wawancara didapatkan variabel dependen pada penelitian adalah jarak dan durasi terbang. Selanjutnya dibuat spesifikasi target untuk produk pesawat kertas. Generasi, pemilihan, dan pengujian konsep produk dilakukan dengan melakukan uji coba prototipe, melakukan analisis statistik dan desain faktorial untuk mendapatkan pesawat kertas yang paling optimal. Pengembangan konsep produk dihasilkan pesawat kertas dengan tipe pesawat Hammer dan ukuran kertas 14x14 cm dengan spesifikasi akhir jarak sebesar 523,6667 cm dan durasi terbang sebesar 1,062 detik. Dihasilkan juga dari kuesioner evaluasi metode pembelajaran bahwa metode pembelajaran bermain sambil belajar lebih menyenangkan dengan selisih 9,87 poin dan lebih mudah dipahami dengan selisih 11,27 poin dari skala 0 sampai 100. Maka dari itu dapat dikatakan metode pembelajaran yang dikembangkan dapat digunakan untuk mengajarkan mahasiswa teknik industri mengenai statistik dan DOE. / As one of the topics in quality control and assurance subjects, Design of Experiment (DOE) is a topic that uses statistical methods with varying parameters to get the optimal results. DOE is quite a difficult topic and requires a good understanding of statistics. Based on the preliminary study conducted on 25 industrial engineering students, it was found that industrial engineering students still did not understand statistics and DOE well, so a new learing method was needed to understand the topics of statistics and DOE. The main objective of this research is to teach industrial engineering students about statistics and DOE through the development of product concepts for paper airplanes with launchers. Paper airplanes were chosen because of their simplicity so that students can more easily replicate research to understand statistics and DOE topics. Experiments were conducted to develop the concept of paper airplane products. Based on the results of interview data processing, it was found that the dependent variable in the study was the distance and duration of flight. Furthermore, target specifications for paper airplane products are made. Generation, selection, and product concept testing are carried out by conducting prototype trials, performing statistical analysis and factorial design to obtain the most optimal paper airplanes. The development of the product concept resulted in a paper airplane with the Hammer plane type and a paper size of 14x14 cm with the final specifications for distance is 523.6667 cm and flight duration is 1.062 seconds. It was also produced from the learning method evaluation questionnaire that the learning method of playing while learning is more fun with a difference of 9.87 points and easier to understand with a difference of 11.27 points from scale 0 to 100. Therefore, it can be said that the developed learning method can be used to teach industrial engineering students about statistics and DOE.
