Abstract

Pekerjaan perkerasan jalan di Indonesia adalah salah satu konstruksi yang mengalami peningkatan dalam pembangunannya. Berdasarkan data Badan Pusat Statistik, penggunaan aspal untuk seluruh jalan di Indonesia adalah 58,32%. Adapun dalam pekerjaan aspal, biasanya material berupa agregat dan aspal dicampur dan dipadatkan untuk membentuk suatu campuran yang memiliki daya rekat yang baik. Dalam campuran tersebut, terdapat beberapa parameter volumetrik yang dapat ditinjau yaitu rongga udara yang terbentuk (VIM, VMA, dan VFB) akibat adanya perbedaan ukuran agregat dan aspal yang menyelimuti agregat. Rongga udara yang terlalu besar akan mengurangi kepadatan campuran aspal dan menyebabkan kekuatan campuran aspal berkurang. Sedangkan rongga udara yang terlalu kecil menyebabkan campuran aspal tidak memiliki ruang untuk memuai saat terkena panas dari luar. Untuk mengetahui nilai dari parameter volumetrik, harus dilakukan pengujian nilai volumetrik tersebut. Metode pengujian yang digunakan adalah metode digital imaging dan metode pengukuran berat. Metode digital imaging dapat digunakan sebagai metode pendukung untuk mencari nilai volumetrik. Dari pengujian sifat volumetrik dengan metode digital imaging pada campuran aspal murni, nilai VIM menghasilkan 3,22% VIM yang lebih kecil dibandingkan metode pengukuran berat. Nilai VIM pada campuran aspal modifikasi yang ditambahkan dengan polimer menghasilkan 6,57% VIM yang lebih besar dibandingkan dengan metode pengukuran berat. Nilai VMA dengan metode digital imaging pada campuran aspal murni menghasilkan 0.75% VMA yang lebih besar dibandingkan dengan metode pengukuran berat. Nilai VMA pada campuran aspal modifikasi polimer menghasilkan 1.03% VMA yang lebih kecil dibandingkan dengan metode pengukuran berat. Nilai VFB dengan metode digital imaging pada campuran aspal murni menghasilkan 1,15% VFB lebih besar dibandingkan dengan metode pengukuran berat. Nilai VFB pada campuran aspal modifikasi polimer menghasilkan 1,51% VFB lebih kecil dibandingkan dengan metode pengukuran berat./Road pavement work in Indonesia is one of the constructions that has experienced increased development. Based on data from the Central Bureau of Statistics, the use of asphalt for all roads in Indonesia is 58.32%. As for asphalt work, the materials in the form of aggregate and asphalt are usually mixed and compacted to form a mixture with good adhesion. In this mixture, several volumetric parameters can be reviewed, namely air voids formed (VIM, VMA, and VFB) due to differences in aggregate size and asphalt covering the aggregate. Air voids that are too large will reduce the density of the asphalt mixture and cause the strength of the asphalt mixture to decrease. Whereas air voids that are too small cause the asphalt mixture to not have room to expand when exposed to heat from outside. The volumetric value must be tested to find out the value of the volumetric parameter. The testing method used is the digital imaging method and the weight measurement method. The digital imaging method can be used as a supporting method for finding volumetric values. From testing the volumetric properties with the digital imaging method on pure asphalt mixtures, the VIM value produces 3.22% VIM, which is smaller than the weight measurement method. The VIM value of the modified asphalt mixture added with polymer resulted in 6.57% VIM, which was greater than the weight measurement method. The VMA value with the digital imaging method on pure asphalt mixtures produces 0.75% VMA, which is greater than the weight measurement method. The VMA value of the polymer-modified asphalt mixture resulted in a 1.03% lower VMA than the weight measurement method. VFB value with digital imaging method on pure asphalt mixture produces 1.15% VFB greater than the weight measurement method. The VFB value of the polymer-modified asphalt mixture resulted in a 1.51% VFB smaller than the weight measurement method.
