Berdasarkan hasil didapatkan nilai p-value > 0,05 (OR 1,291; 95% CI, 0,567-2,938; P = 0,542). / Background: Sleep is very important for human life, because sleep affect organism to perform their function. Light is one of the factors that affect sleep quality, because it can increase melatonin in the human body and affect human circadian rhythm. Previously, there have been several studies about relationship of lights during sleep with sleep quality, but among these studies have varying results. Objective: This study was used to determine the relationship of using lights during sleep with sleep quality and overview of lights uses and sleep quality among medical students of Universitas Pelita Harapan Faculty of Medicine. The hypothesis for this study is that there is the relation of using lights while sleeping with sleep quality. Methods: This study used a cross-sectional method by giving questionnaires to students of the Faculty of Medicine, Pelita Harapan University, Lippo Village. Researchers use chi-square analysis to see the relationship of the lamp usage during sleep with sleep quality. Results: Among 92 respondents, there were 34 (37%) male respondents and 58 (63%) female respondents. Respondent who slept using light were 45 (48,9%) students and 47 (51,1) students wo slept without using lights. And respondents who had poor sleep quality were 42 (45,7%) and respondents who had good sleep quality were 50 (54,3%). The average of respondents was 21. Based on the results obtained p-value > 0,05 (OR 1.291; 95% CI, 0.567-2.938; P = 0.542). Conclusion: There was no relationship between the lights usage during sleep with sleep quality.
