Abstract

Kasus perceraian di Indonesia setiap tahunnya meningkat yang menyebabkan adanya peran ganda pada ibu tunggal. Peran ganda yang ibu tunggal jalani menimbulkan perasaan negatif, seperti sedih, cemas, kecewa. Perasaan negatif ini merupakan salah satu tanda bahwa subjective well-being pada ibu tunggal rendah. Apabila subjective well-being pada ibu tunggal terus menerus rendah akan berdampak pada kualitas ibu tunggal dan keluarga ibu tunggal serta hubungan ibu dan anak, sehingga diduga memerlukan kepribadian hardiness dalam menjalankan peran gandanya. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk melihat hubungan antara hardiness dengan subjective well-being pada ibu tunggal di Pulau Jawa. Penelitian ini merupakan penilitian kuantitatif dengan desain cross-sectional dan menggunakan metode penelitian korelasional kepada 100 ibu tunggal di Pulau Jawa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan positif dan signifikan antara hardiness dengan subjective well-being pada ibu tunggal (r = .376, p < .001)./ Divorce cases in Indonesia increases every year which leads to dual role for single mothers. The dual role that single mothers do causes negative feelings such as sadness, anxiety, and disappointment. These negative feelings are amongst the signs that a single mother’s subjective well-being is low. If the subjective well-being of a single mother is continuously low, it will affect her quality of life, her family, as well as the relationship between her and her children, therefore it is suspected that single mothers need hardiness in carrying out their dual roles. The purpose of this research is to see the relationship between hardiness and the subjective well-being of single mothers in Java. This research is quantitative research with cross-sectional design, and uses correlational research method to 100 single mothers in Java. The results of this research shows that there was a positive and significant relationship between hardiness and subjective well-being in single mothers (r = .376, p < .001).
