Abstract

Life satisfaction is an individual’s cognitive assessment of the quality of life. One of the factors that influence life satisfaction is the meaning of work. The meaning of work is a person’s perspective broadly towards his work. This study aims to see whether there is a significant effect of the meaning of work on the life satisfaction of Confucian preachers in Indonesia. The research was conducted quantitatively with a linear regression research design on 81 participants who were active Confucian preachers spread throughout Indonesia. The measurement tools used in this study are the Work as Meaning Inventory (WAMI) to measure the variable meaning of work and the Riverside Life Satisfaction Scale (RLSS) to measure the variable life satisfaction. The results of the study found that the meaning of work can have a significant effect of 18.4% on the life satisfaction of Confucian preachers. In addition, it was also found that the dimension of meaning making through work has the most significant influence on life satisfaction variables. Based on these results, it is suggested to leaders of Confucian preachers to make better regulations by considering life satisfaction from the meaning of work. /Kepuasan hidup adalah penilaian secara kognitif yang dilakukan individu terhadap kualitas hidupnya. Salah satu faktor yang memengaruhi kepuasan hidup adalah makna kerja. Makna kerja merupakan cara pandang seseorang secara luas terhadap pekerjaannya. Studi ini bertujuan untuk melihat apakah terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan dari makna kerja terhadap kepuasan hidup pengkhotbah agama Konghucu di Indonesia. Penelitian dilakukan secara kuantitatif dengan desain penelitian regresi linear terhadap 81 partisipan pengkhotbah aktif agama Konghucu yang tersebar di seluruh Indonesia. Alat ukur yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Work as Meaning Inventory (WAMI) untuk mengukur variabel makna kerja dan Riverside Life Satisfaction Scale (RLSS) untuk mengukur variabel kepuasan hidup. Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa makna kerja dapat memberi pengaruh yang signifikan sebesar 18.4% terhadap kepuasan hidup pada pengkhotbah agama Konghucu. Selain itu, ditemukan juga bahwa dimensi meaning making through work yang memberikan pengaruh paling signifikan terhadap variabel kepuasan hidup. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, disarankan kepada pimpinan pengkhotbah agama Konghucu untuk membuat regulasi yang lebih baik dengan mempertimbangkan kepuasan hidup dari makna kerja.
