Abstract

The study aimed to investigate the impact of conflict resolution type on marital satisfaction within middle aged married couples in Jabodetabek. As a quantitative research, the study utilized a cross-sectional method and purposive sampling, data was also acquired through questionnaires and self-report instruments. Results illustrated that conflict resolution type does impact marital satisfaction by 36%, with only accommodation significantly increasing and avoiding significantly reducing marital satisfaction. Accommodation was found to increase marital satisfaction due to collectivist culture ideals, whilst avoiding reduces marital satisfaction due to lack of open communication. However, limitations of the study were present within the samples, where there was a lack of validity and reliability that could have impacted the study’s results. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki dampak dari tipe resolusi konflik terhadap kepuasan pernikahan di antara pasangan menikah paruh baya di Jabodetabek. Sebagai penelitian kuantitatif, penelitian ini menggunakan metode cross-sectional dan purposive sampling, data juga diperoleh melalui kuesioner dan instrumen laporan diri. Hasil menggambarkan bahwa jenis resolusi konflik berdampak pada kepuasan perkawinan sebesar 36%, dengan hanya akomodasi yang secara signifikan meningkat dan menghindari secara signifikan mengurangi kepuasan pernikahan. Akomodasi ditemukan meningkatkan kepuasan pernikahan karena ide-ide budaya kolektivis, sementara menghindari mengurangi kepuasan pernikahan karena kurangnya komunikasi terbuka. Namun, keterbatasan penelitian hadir dalam sampel, di mana ada kurangnya validitas dan reliabilitas yang bisa berdampak pada hasil penelitian.
