Abstract

Stabilisasi tanah sangat penting dalam dunia konstruksi karena tanah merupakan pendukung apapun yang akan dibangun di atasnya, maka untuk itu tanah harus dalam kondisi baik sehingga konstruksi di atasnya tetap aman dan tahan lama. Stabilisasi tanah diperuntukkan pada jenis-jenis tanah bermasalah yang dapat dilihat dari sifat fisik dan mekanisnya. Beberapa jenis tanah lempung memiliki sifat plastisitas tinggi dan kuat geser rendah. Jenis dan plastisitas tanah dapat diketahui dari analisa saringan dan batas-batas Atterberg, sedangkan kuat geser didapatkan dari uji triaksial. Material stabilisasi tanah yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah abu marmer yang diambil dari limbah marmer. Kadar abu marmer yang digunakan adalah 3%, 6%, 9%, dan 12% dari berat tanah kering. Kepadatan sampel tanah yang digunakan untuk uji triaksial didasarkan pada berat isi kering maksimum dan kadar air optimum hasil uji kompaksi. Selain pengaruh penambahan abu marmer, penelitian ini juga mengkaji pengaruh periodik pemeraman terhadap kuat geser tanah lempung. Berdasarkan hasil uji awal didapatkan bahwa tanah yang diteliti tergolong sebagai tanah lempung dengan plastisitas sedang, namun setelah penambahan abu marmer plastisitas tanah semakin menurun dengan tingkat plastisitas rendah. Kepadatan tanah semakin meningkat dan kadar air omtimum menuruna pada penambahan abu marmer 3-6%. Hal yang sama didapatkan pada hasil uji kuat geser, secara umum penambahan 6% abu marmer memberikan pengaruh yang baik dalam peningkatan kuat geser tanah. Pemeraman tanah yang lebih lama memberikan pengaruh yang dominan pada peningkatan sudut gesek dalam tanah dibandingkan peningkatan kohesi tanah untuk 6% abu marmer. / Soil stabilization is very important in the world of construction because the soil is a support for anything that will be built on it, therefore the soil must be in good condition so that the construction on it remains safe and durable. Soil stabilization is intended for problematic soil types which can be seen from their physical and mechanical properties. Some types of clay have high plasticity and low shear strength. The type and plasticity of the soil can be known from the siev analysis and Atterberg limits, while the shear strength is obtained from the triaxial test. The soil stabilization material used in this study was marble ash taken from marble waste. The ash content of the marble used was 3%, 6%, 9% and 12% by weight of dry soil. The density of the soil sample used for the triaxial test is based on the maximum dry density and optimum moisture content as a result of the compaction test. In addition to the effect of adding marble ash, this study also examined the effect of periodic curing on the shear strength of clay soils. Based on the preliminary test results, it was found that the soil under study was classified as clay with moderate plasticity, but after the addition of marble ash, the plasticity of the soil decreased with a low level of plasticity. Soil density increased and the optimum water content decreased with the addition of 3-6% marble ash. The same thing was found in the results of the shear strength test, in general the addition of 6% marble ash had a good effect on increasing the soil shear strength. Longer soil curing has a dominant effect on increasing the internal friction angle in the soil compared to increasing soil cohesion for the addition of 6% marble ash.
