Abstract

Film merupakan sebuah produk media massa yang secara konstan mengalami perkembangan. Film yang dikonsumsi oleh masyarakat menjadikannya sebagai sarana komunikasi yang kuat dan dapat memengaruhi penontonnya. Oleh karena itu, umumnya cerita di dalam film menggambarkan sebuah realitas sosial. Dalam film “Crazy Rich Asians”, terdapat sebuah realitas sosial yaitu gaya hidup seperti hedonisme. Diadakan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran-gambaran gaya hidup hedonisme yang terdapat di dalam film “Crazy Rich Asians”, penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan metode analisis semiotika Peirce yang dilakukan secara kritis. Peneliti memperoleh data primer melalui dokumentasi gambar atau pemilihan adegan dalam film “Crazy Rich Asians” dan data sekunder dari studi kepustakaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat penggambaran gaya hidup hedonisme di dalam film “Crazy Rich Asians”. Penggambaran tersebut diperoleh melalui visualisasi adegan, serta komunikasi verbal dan non-verbal dari para tokoh. Gaya hidup hedonisme yang digambarkan dalam film ini juga dapat diklasifikasikan ke dalam tiga aspek hedonisme, yaitu aspek aktivitas, aspek minat, dan aspek opini. / Film is a mass media product that is constantly evolving. Films that are consumed by the public have made them a powerful communication media and have the ability to influence the audience. Therefore, the stories contained in films are often inspired from social realities. In “Crazy Rich Asians” film, there is one highlighted social reality, which is lifestyle such as hedonism. Conducted with the aim of knowing the hedonism lifestyle representation in “Crazy Rich Asians” film, this study used a descriptive qualitative approach with Peirce’s semiotic analysis carried out critically as its method. The researcher obtained this study’s primary data from image documentation or scene selection from “Crazy Rich Asians” film and obtain secondary data from literature studies or review. The results of this study shows that there is a hedonism lifestyle representation in “Crazy Rich Asians” film. The depiction is obtained from scene visualisation, as well as verbal and non-verbal communication from the characters in the film. Moreover, the hedonism lifestyle depicted from this film can also be classified into three hedonistic aspects, which are activity aspect, interest aspect, and opinion aspect.
