Abstract

Keterampilan menulis permulaan merupakan salah satu keterampilan yang sangat penting dalam pembelajaran bahasa indonesia. Keterampilan menulis permulaan dipelajari sejak siswa berada dijenjang TK dan menjadi pengetahuan awal untuk belajar menulis pada jenjang belajar di SD. Mengajarkan siswa menulis tidaklah mudah, banyak kesulitan dan membutuhkan kesabaran. Seperti penelitian yang dilakukan oleh peneliti pada siswa kelas 1B di Sekolah Lentera Harapan Curug, banyak siswa yang mengalami kesulitan pada saat menulis, banyak huruf yang tidak dapat dibaca dan tulisan tidak tepat dalam mengikuti garis horizontal sehingga tidak rapi. Peneliti melakukan upaya untuk dapat meningkatkan keterampilan menulis permulaan siswa melalui penerapan metode drill. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk meningkatkan keterampilan menulis permulaan siswa pada pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia. Penelitian ini adaah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) Model Pelton. Instrumen pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah, RPP, Umpan balik mentor, jurnal refleksi, lembar cheklist mentor dan hasil tes. Hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan menulis permulaan siswa mengalami peningkatan yang konsisten setelah penerapan metode yaitu, nilai rata-rata sebelum penerapan metode memperoleh 46,87 kemudian meningkat menjadi 57,02 pada tindakan pertama mengalami peningkatan sebesar yaitu 10,15 %. Pada tindakan kedua meningkat menjadi 60,15 selisih peningkatan dari tindakan pertama dan tindakan kedua sebesar 3,13%. Tindakan ketiga memperoleh peningkatan 65,62 atau mengalami peningkatan sebesar 5,47% dari tindakan kedua. / Basic writing skill is one of the most important skills in Indonesian language learning. It is learned since students are in the kindergarten and it becomes the initial knowledge to learn writing for the next level of learning in elementary school. Teaching students to write is not easy, it is difficult and requires patience. A preliminary research conducted by researcher at Lentera Harapan Curug School. For examlpe, the researcher found that the students faced difficulties when they did the writing activity. There were many letters that cannot be read and the writing is incorrect in following a horizontal line which made it not neat. The researcher made an effort to improve students’ basic writing skill through the application of the drill method. The purpose of this study is to improve the students’ basic writing skill in Indonesian subject of class 1B at Lentera Harapan Curug School. This study is Classroom Action Research (CAR) with Pelton Model. The instruments used of the data collection were lesson plans, mentor’s feedback, reflection journals, mentor’s checklist sheet and test results. The results of the study showed that students’ basic writing skill shows a consistent increase after the application of the method, namely, the average value before the application of the method obtained 46.87 then it increased to 57.02. In the first implementation, it increased by 10.15%. In the second action, it increased to 60.15, so the difference of the improvement from the first action and the second action was 3.13%. The third action obtained an increase of 65.5 or it increased to 5.47% from the second action.
