Abstract

Keaktifan siswa merupakan salah satu faktor penting dalam pembelajaran karena dengan aktifnya siswa menunjukan bahwa siswa tersebut mengikuti pembelajaran dan mempunyai ketertarikan serta keingintahuan terhadap pembelajaran. Keaktifan siswa juga membuat siswa semakin kreatif dalam berfikir, namun pada kenyataannya peneliti menemukan siswa kelas II di salah satu SD Kristen di Kupang masih kurang aktif. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari kurangnya respon siswa dalam menjawab pertanyaan guru dan keinginan untuk bertanya mengenai hal yang belum dipahami, oleh karena itu pada penelitian ini, peneliti menerapkan metode pembelajaran kooperatif tipe teams games tournament untuk membantu siswa untuk berperan aktif di dalam kelas. Peneliti menggunakan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) model Pelton. Subyek penelitian tindakan kelas adalah 22 orang siswa kelas II di salah satu SD Kristen di Kupang. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah umpan balik guru mentor, rencana pelaksanaan pembelajaran dan jurnal refleksi. Presentase penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa metode pembelajaran kooperatif tipe teams games tournament dapat meningkatkan keaktifan siswa kelas II di salah satu SD Kristen di Kupang dapat dilihat dari meningkatnya perhatian dan keinginan siswa untuk menjawab pertanyaan-pertanyaan guru serta partisipasi di dalam kelas sesuai indikator yang telah ditentukan./ Student’s active learning is an important factor for the success of a learning because it shows that students follow the learning and have interest and wonder towards the lesson. Student’s active learning also affects students critical and creative thinking skill. However, in the reality the researcher found thst students grade II in a Christian school in Kupang was not active in the learning process. It could be seen from the lack of students response in answering and giving question about thing they did not know from the lesson. Therefore, in this research, the research implemented cooperative learning methods type teams games tournament to improve students’ active learning. The researcher used Classromm Action Research (CAR) by Palton model. The subject in this research was 22 students of grade II in a Christian school at Kupang. The instrument used were mentor feedbacks, lesson plans and reflection sheets. The final result from the implementation of this research showed that the method used by the researcher could improve students’ active learning. It could be proven from the improvement of students’ attention and desire to answer questions given by the researcher and they could participate in class in accordance with specified indicators.
