Abstract

Tahap perkembangan disiplin masa kanak-kanak usia 3-8 tahun diharapkan anak sudah bisa menunjukkan sikap patuh terhadap aturan orang tua dan lingkungan sosialnya dengan tujuan menuntun anak memiliki sikap disipin dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Namun, hasil observasi di kelas menunjukkan siswa TK B Sekolah Kristen Kalam Kudus Yogyakarta kurang disiplin. Hal ini terlihat dari siswa cenderung tidak menaati peratuan kelas pada saat peneliti mengajar, siswa berbicara dengan teman tanpa seijin guru, meninggalkan tempat duduk, tidak konsisten menggunakan hand signal. Oleh karena itu metode reward berupa stiker bintang dengan varian warna, bentuk yang cerah dapat memberikan pengalaman kepada siswa dengan tujuan meningkatkan disiplin serta mengetahui langkah-langkah yang tepat dalam penerapan metode reward untuk meningkatkan kedisiplinan siswa. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah: (1) Mengetahui ada atau tidaknya peningkatan disiplin siswa TK B Sekolah Kristen Kalam Kudus (SKKK) melalui metode reward (2) Mengetahui bagaimana penerapan metode reward dalam meningkatkan disiplin siswa TK B di Sekolah Kristen Kalam Kudus Yogyakarta.. Metode penelitan yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas model Pelton dalam tiga kali pertemuan dengan subjek penelitian siswa TK sebanyak 12 orang. Pengumpulan data menggunakan instrumen berupa lembar observasi mentor, jurnal refleksi serta umpan balik mentor. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan setiap indikator disiplin mencapai keberhasilan yaitu: (1) Indikator siswa serius dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar sebesar 81,25%; (2) Indikator siswa mengetahui apa yang menjadi harapan guru dan sekolah meningkat menjadi 93,75% dan (3) Siswa memamtuhi peraturan yang sudah ditetapkan menjadi 93,75%. Peningkatan disiplin siswa disebabkan karena metode reward dapat mengubah perilaku siswa yaitu pemberian keteladanan, sebagai penuntun dan peneguh respon positip dan perilaku yang benar sehingga siswa tidak terlibat pada perilaku yang tercela. Metode reward diterapkan dengan langkah-langkah yaitu (1) menempelkan rencana penghargaan, (2) menjelaskan penerapan reward, (3) menjelaskan prinsip penghargaan./ The stage of discipline development in chilhood (age of 3-8 years old) is that the child have had to obey parents and environmental rules with goals to guide children to have discipline attitude in their daily life. However, observation result in classroom showed that students in TK B Kalam Kudus Christian School Yogyakarta had lack of discipline. This could be seen through students whose tend to disobey classroom rules when observer taught, students told with their friends without teacher’s permission, left the chair, and inconsistent in using hand-signal. Hence the reward method by giving star sticker with various bright colors and shape is able to give experince to students with porpose improving discipline and knowing the right steps to implement reward method in increasing students discipline. The purposes of this research are; (1) to know whether there is improvement in the discipline of students at TK B Kristen Kalam Kudus School (SKKK) through reward method, (2) to know how the implementation of reward method can improve the discipline of students in TK B at Kalam Kudus Yogyakarta School. Research method that is used in this research is Pelton model Classroom Action Research in three times meeting with research subject are students of TK that consist of 12 students. The instruments which are used to collect the data in this research are mentor observaion sheet, reflection journal, and also mentor feedback. Research result showed that every discipline indicators achieved success with the following description: (1) The indicator percentage of students seriously follow learning activity is 81,25%, (2) The indicator percentage of students know the expectation of teacher and school improved to 93,75%., and (3) The indicator percentage of students obey the rules that have been determined improved to 93,75%. Discipline increasing is caused by reward method can change students behavior, by being role model, guidance and confirmation to positive response and to the right attitude so that the students don’t do despicable deeds. Reward method can be apllied wih some steps, namely (1) attach a reward plan, (2) explain reward application, (3) explain tenet of reward.
