Abstract

Pemahaman konsep Matematika sangat penting, karena membantu siswa untuk memahami konsep materi selanjutnya, siswa tidak kesulitan dalam mengerjakan permasalahan Matematika. Kenyataan di lapangan pemahaman konsep siswa pada pelajaran Matematika rendah. Hal ini ditunjukkan dari hasil tes sebanyak 50% siswa nilainya di bawah KKM. Maka dari itu dilakukannya penelitian dengan menerapkan metode Drill dengan tujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa dalam pelajaran Matematika dan mengetahui penerapannya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas model Pelton. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada tanggal 17 Oktober dan 22 Oktober 2018 dengan subjek 14 siswa kelas V SD Lentera Harapan Gunung Agung. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah RPP, umpan balik mentor, refleksi, dan tes. Teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah analisis Deskriptif. Berdasarkan penelitian yang telah dilakukan menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman konsep pada pelajaran Matematika siswa SD Lentera Harapan Gunung Agung Lampung Timur, meningkat sebanyak 85% atau 12 siswa dari 14 siswa mampu mencapai ketuntasan nilai sesuai KKM dengan menerapkan langkah langkah metode Drill yaitu memberikan penjelasan materi di awal pembelajaran sebelum melakukan latihan, membuat perbaikan pada siswa yang mengalami kesulitan, pemberian materi yang sesuai dengan taraf kemampuan siswa dan penyampaian materi sesuai kebutuhan siswa./ Conceptual understanding of mathematics is very important because it helps students to understand the further concepts, and they will not struggle to solve the problems. In fact, the researcher found that the students conceptual in mathematics was low. It can be seen from the test result where 50% of the students did not past the minimum passing criteria. Therefore the researcher decided to implement Drill method to improve students’ understanding concept in mathematics. The research method used by the researcher is classroom action. Research model by pelton. The research was done on October 17 and October 22, 2018 with 14 students of grade V Lentera Harapan Gunung Agung School as the subject. Instrument that used by researcher were lesson plan, mentor’s feedback sheet, reflection, and test. Analysis technique that used was descriptive analysis. According to the research, it is shown that the student’s conceptual understanding in mathematics was improved 85%, in other words 12 out of 14 students passed the minimum passing grade. The Drill method was done according to the steps which are explaining the material in the opening before give test, make remedial for stedents still struggle.
