Abstract

Pemahaman konsep merupakan landasan berpikir untuk memecahkan berbagai permasalahan dalam pembelajaran. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya pemahaman konsep siswa pada pelajaran IPA Terpadu. Metode jigsaw diterapkan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) model Pelton yang dilaksanakan pada 14-18 September 2018 dalam tiga penerapan. Subyek penelitian adalah 30 siswa kelas VIII B SDH Holland Village Manado, dengan sumber data penelitian berupa hasil tes, umpan balik mentor dan jurnal refleksi. Data pada penelitian ini diolah dengan analisis deskriptif. Berdasarkan hasil tes siswa diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa metode jigsaw dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa dengan ketercapaian indikator siswa mampu menjelaskan struktur beserta fungsi jaringan pada tumbuhan sebesar 50% (cukup baik) pada penerapan pertama, 17% (sangat tidak baik) pada penerapan kedua, dan 57% (cukup baik) pada penerapan ketiga. Ketercapaian indikator siswa mampu menyelidiki fungsi jaringan pada tumbuhan berdasarkan strukturnya sebesar 23% (kurang baik) pada penerapan pertama, 37% (kurang baik) pada penerapan kedua, dan 77% (baik) pada penerapan ketiga. Langkah penerapan metode jigsaw untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa yaitu: 1) setiap anggota kelompok asal mendapatkan pertanyaan yang berbeda, 2) anggota dari tiap kelompok dengan kode soal yang sama berkumpul sebagai kelompok ahli untuk mendiskusikan setiap pertanyaan yang diberikan, 3) setiap siswa kembali kepada kelompok asal masing-masing untuk mengajarkan materi yang telah didiskusikan, 4) diadakan review dan siswa mengerjakan kuis./ Conceptual understanding is the basis of thinking to solve various learning problems. This research is conducted because students had low conceptual understanding in integrated science lessons. The implementation of jigsaw method to improve students’ conceptual understanding. The research method used was the Pelton model of Class Action Research (CAR) which was conducted on September 14 th -18th , 2018 in three implementations. The research subjects were 30 students of class VIII B SDH Holland Village Manado, with research data sources were students’ test results, mentor feedback, and reflective journals. The research data were analyzed by descriptive analysis method. Based on the test results, it was concluded that jigsaw method can improve students' conceptual understanding with fulfillment of indicator of students were able to explain the structure and functions of plants tissues was 50% (enough) on the first implementation, 17% (bad) on the second implementation, and 57% (enough) on the third implementation. Fulfillment of indicator of student was able to investigate the function of plants based on their structure was 23% (not enough) on the first implementation, 37% (not enough) on the second implementation, and 77% (good) on the third implementation. The steps to implement jigsaw method to improve students' conceptual understanding were: 1) each member of the original group gets different questions, 2) members of each group with the same question code gather as expert groups to discuss each question given, 3) each student returns to the original group to teach the material that has been discussed, 4) a review is held and students work on the quiz.
