Abstract
In this modern era, romantic relationships or, more explicitly, dating are prevalent to be found, especially among young adults. Long-distance romantic relationships are divided into proximal relationships (PR) and long-distance relationships (LDR). In a romantic relationship, there is romantic relationship satisfaction. Previous studies have stated a gap in romantic relationship satisfaction between people undergoing PR and LDR. The results of the sample t-test of 140 participants regarding romantic relationship satisfaction in young adults undergoing PR and LDR is (p=0.604; p<0.05). These results indicate that there is no significant difference in romantic relationship satisfaction for young adults who are undergoing PR or LDR. After analyzing several supporting variables such as length of dating, gender, and age range, there were no significant differences. Because of the more accessible communication, couples undergoing LDR can communicate virtually, replacing face-to-face meetings.
