Abstract

Berdasarkan hasil observasi menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman konsep siswa terhadap materi masih rendah, dibuktikan melalui tanya jawab, data hasil kuis siswa, pengerjaan tugas analisis artikel, data refleksi pribadi siswa dan didukung jurnal refleksi peneliti. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa dengan penerapan metode course review horay dan mengetahui tahapan-tahapan penerapan metode course review horay. Penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) model Pelton, yang berlangsung dua kali penerapan tindakan. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada tanggal 06 Agustus hingga 28 September 2018 terhadap 20 siswa sebagai subjek penelitian di Sekolah Palembang Harapan. Adapun instrumen yang digunakan, yaitu lembar tes tertulis, lembar observasi mentor dan rekan sejawat, lembar angket siswa, lembar refleksi pribadi siswa, dan jurnal refleksi peneliti. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman konsep siswa. Adapun pencapaian indikator berdasarkan hasil tes dan angket siswa yang menyatakan siswa mengikuti pembelajaran sesuai tahapan metode course review horay. Hasil observasi mentor dan rekan sejawat juga menunjukkan metode course review horay mampu diterapkan peneliti dengan baik sehingga efektif mengakomodir pembelajaran, meskipun dari jurnal refleksi peneliti harus dilakukan perbaikan beberapa instruksi. Siswa mampu berefleksi bahwa pemahaman konsep mereka meningkat dari pertemuan sebelumnya. Maka disimpulkan bahwa penerapan metode course review horay dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa./ Based on the observation result researcher found students’ conceptual understanding towards the material given still on below standard, it has proven through question and answer, students' quiz result, the analyzing task article given, personal reflection, and it was supported by researcher's journal reflection. The aim of this research was to enhance students' conceptual understanding through the implementation of course review horay method and to know the steps of course review horay method. The research method used in this investigation is Classroom Action Research (CAR) by Pelton, which be held in two cycles. The research was held at Sekolah Palembang Harapan with 20 students as the research subject from August 6th, 2018 until September 28th, 2018. The researcher used several instruments to gather information through written tests, mentor and peer’s observation sheets, students' questionnaire sheets, students' personal reflection sheets, and the researcher's reflective journal. The result of the research shown the enhancementt of students' conceptual understanding. Moreover, the achievement of indicator was based on test's results and students' questionnaire which stated that students was implemented the learning process using course review horay method. The result of mentor and peer’s observation also shown that course review horay method could be implemented well and effective in conveying the learning process, even though in some areas there were some part that need to be improved. It was seen through the researcher's reflective journal. The students were able to reflect that their conceptual understanding has enhanced from their previous meeting. It could be concluded that the implementation of course review horay be able to enhance students' conceptual understanding.
