Abstract

Proses pembelajaran perlu adanya hubungan timbal balik antara guru dan siswa. Siswa pada dasarnya adalah aktif, hanya membutuhkan waktu dan lingkungan untuk meningkatkan keaktifannya dan juga perlu seorang guru yang menuntun agar siswa dapat meningkatkan keaktifannya dengan baik. Berdasarkan hasil pengamatan yang dilakukan di kelas VII di SMPK Kalam Kudus 3 Jakarta ditemukan bahwa tingkat keaktifan siswa dalam pelajaran pendidikan kewarganegaraan masih rendah. Oleh sebab itu, peneliti memutuskan untuk menerapkan metode Course Review Horay. Melalui penerapan metode Course Review Horay diharapkan dapat meningkatkan keaktifan siswa pada pelajaran pendidikan kewarganegaraan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) model Robert P. Pelton. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam dua kali penerapan, yang melibatkan 18 siswa kelas VII. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam mengumpulkan data adalah Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran (RPP), jurnal refleksi, umpan balik mentor, lembar checklist, dan lembar observasi. Semua data yang diperoleh oleh peneliti kemudian di analisis, sehingga mendapatkan kesimpulan bahwa metode Course Review Horay dapat meningkatkan keaktifan siswa kelas VII di SMPK Kalam Kudus 3 Jakarta pada pelajaran pendidikan kewarganegaraan./ The learning process needs the interrelationship between teacher and student. Basically, the students are active, it needs time and environment to improve the students’ activeness and it needs a teacher who guides the students to improve their activeness well. Based on the observation made in Grade VII at SMPK Kalam Kudus 3 Jakarta, it was found the students’ activeness on Civic Education lesson was still low. Therefore, the researcher decides to apply the Course Review Horay method. Through the application of the Course Review Horay method, it was hoped to improve the students’ activeness on the Civic Education lesson. The method used in this research was classroom action research (CAR), Robert P. Pelton type. This research was held on two times application that involved 18 students in grade VII. The instruments used to collect the data were Lesson Plan, journal reflection, mentor’s feedback, checklist sheet, and observation sheet. All the data were obtained by the researcher was the analysed, until it got the conclusion that the Course Review Horay method can improve the students’ activeness in grade VII at SMPK Kalam Kudus Jakarta on the Civic Education lesson.
