Abstract

Pada penelitian ini, permasalahan yang temukan peneliti di kelas XII IPA di salah satu SMA Kristen di Tangerang pada pembelajaran General Mathematics adalah masalah keaktifan belajar siswa. Fakta yang terjadi di dalam kelas menunjukkan siswa kurang aktif dalam bertanya, menyampaikan pendapat, belum mengerjakan tugas dengan baik, kurang terlibat dalam penyelesaian masalah bersama kelompok, mudah putus asa ketika mengalami kesulitan belajar, dan enggan bertanya kepada teman kelompok. Sehubungan dengan permasalahan tersebut peneliti memilih metode Numbered Heads Together sebagai solusi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keaktifan belajar siswa kelas XII IPA melalui penerapan meode NHT dan mengetahui cara penerapan metode NHT dapat meningkatkan keaktifan belajar siswa kelas XII IPA. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dikembangkan oleh Pelton. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada 17 September – 24 Oktober 2018 terhadap 13 siswa dengan dua kali tindakan. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan instrumen berupa RPP, umpan balik mentor, lembar observasi mentor, angket siswa, dan jurnal refleksi peneliti. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan metode NHT dapat meningkatkan keaktifan belajar siswa. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan tercapainya seluruh indikator keaktifan belajar siswa yaitu, 1) mengajukan pertanyaan; 2) menyatakan pendapat; 3) mengerjakan tugas dengan baik; 4) terlibat dalam kegiatan penyelesaian masalah; 5) berusaha mencari berbagai informasi yang diperlukan untuk memecahkan masalah; 6) melaksanakan diskusi kelompok. NHT dilakukan dalam enam langkah yaitu, 1) pembentukan kelompok; 2) memastikan tiap kelompok harus memiliki buku paket atau buku panduan; 3) presentasi guru; 4) diskusi masalah (kelompok NHT); 5) memanggil nomor anggota atau pemberian jawaban; 6) kesimpulan dan kuis. / In this research, the problem that researcher found in XII Science class in a Christian high school in Tangerang on General Mathematics learning was the problem of student learning activeness. Facts that occur in the classroom show students are less active in asking questions, expressing opinions, not doing the task well, being less involved in solving problems with the group, easily discouraged when experiencing learning difficulties, and are reluctant to ask group friends. Therefore, these problems the researcher chose the Numbered Heads Together method as a solution. This study aims to improve the learning activeness of students of class XII IPA through the application of the NHT method and to know how to apply the NHT method can improve the learning activeness of students of class XII Science. The research method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) developed by Pelton. The study was conducted on September 17 - October 24 2018 to 13 students with two actions. Data collection is done by using instruments in the form of LP, mentor feedback, mentor observation sheets, student questionnaires, and researcher reflection journals. The results showed that the application of the NHT method can improve student learning activeness. This is indicated by the achievement of all indicators of student learning activeness, namely, 1) asking questions; 2) express opinions; 3) do the task well; 4) involved in problem solving activities; 5) trying to find various information needed to solve problems; 6) carry out group discussions. NHT is carried out in six steps, namely, 1) group formation; 2) ensure each group must have a textbook or guidebook; 3) teacher presentations; 4) discussion of the problem (NHT group); 5) call the member number or give an answer; 6) conclusions and quizzes.
