Abstract

Hasil belajar menjadi suatu evaluasi pembelajaran yang dilakukan sehingga mampu mengukur tercapainya tujuan suatu pembelajaran yang telah ditentukan. Berdasarkan hasil pengamatan peneliti di kelas VII ditemukan bahwa terdapat siswa yang belum mencapai nilai Kriterian Ketuntasan Minimal (KKM) yang ditetapkan pada pelajaran matematika. Hal ini karena dalam penyelesaian soal siswa kurang dalam perhitungan matematis, kurang terampil mengerjakan soal dan membutuhkan penjelasan detail dari guru. Oleh karena itu, peneliti menerapkan metode ceramah plus yaitu kombinasi ceramah dan tanyajawab untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar kognitif siswa kelas VII pada materi pecahan dan untuk mengetahui penerapan metode ceramah plus dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar kognitif siswa kelas VII pada materi pecahan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) model Pelton. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada 27 Agustus – 21 September 2018 di kelas VII salah satu SMP Kristen di Kupang. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 19 orang yaitu 7 orang laki-laki dan 12 orang perempuan. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah lembar tes siswa, jurnal refleksi, lembar observasi dan Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran (RPP). Hasil analisis menujukkan bahwa hasil rata-rata siswa sebelum melakukan tindakan adalah 66.84 dengan persentase kelulusan sebesar 68,42% sedangkan nilai rata-rata siswa setelah melakukan tindakan adalah 89.73 dengan persentase kelulusan sebesar 94,73%. Dan berdasarkan indikator yang ditentukan bahwa pada indikator 1 mencapai persentase yaitu 100% dan indikator 2 mencapai persentase yaitu 89.20%. Berdasarkan peningkatan pencapaian nilai rata-rata dan indikator dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan metode ceramah plus dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar kognitif siswa kelas VII materi pecahan. / Students’ achievement is an evaluation of learning which is done to measure the achievement of determined learning objectives. According to researcher’s observation in grade VII, there were students who could not reach the passing grade in Mathematics. This happened because of the students’ lack of mathematical calculation skill in problem solving and they also needed a detail explanation from the teacher. Therefore, the researcher implemented direct instruction plus method, which is a combination on direct instruction and question and answer to improve students’ cognitive achievement in grade VII in fraction topic and to know whether the implementation of direct instruction plus method could improve students’ cognitive achievement in grade VII in fraction topic.The research method that is used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) by Pelton. The research was conducted from August 27th – September 21st 2018 in grade VII at a Christian junior high school in Kupang. The subjects of this research was 19 students, 7 of them are boys and 12 are girls. The instruments used were students’ test sheet, reflection journal, observation form, and lesson plan. The analysis shows that students’ average score before the plan activation was 66.84 with percentage of 68.42%, meanwhile students’ average score after the plan activations was 89.73 with percentage of 94.73%. According to the indicators which have been determined, the percentage of the first indicator is 100% and 89.20% for the second indicator. Based on improvement achievement of averages and indicator, it can be concluded that the implementation of direct instruction plus method can improve students’ cognitive achievement of grade VII in fraction topic.
