Abstract

penelitian yang dilakukan di Belanda mendapati bahwa Sebanyak 39.7% individu dewasa muda mengalami kesepian yang tinggi. Hasil survei lain juga mengatakan pada tahun 2020 di Indonesia sebanyak 28,1 juta jiwa bermain game online. Individu dewasa muda penyuka game online memanfaatkan game online salah satunya untuk mengatasi kesepian yang dialami dengan mencari kegiatan dan pertemanan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan afiliasinya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan kesepian dengan kebutuhan afiliasi pada individu dewasa muda pemain game online. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian korelasional menggunakan teknik sampling, non probability sampling. Instrumen penelitian ini menggunakan UCLA Loneliness Scale Version 3 dan IOS Scale. Hasil pada penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa loneliness secara positif dan signifikan berkorelasi dengan need for affiliation yakni sebesar (r = .463, p = <.001). Selanjutnya korelasi antara loneliness dan aspek need for affiliation menunjukan bahwa kesepian hanya berkorelasi signifikan dengan aspek attention dan aspek self comparison serta kesepian juga berkorelasi dengan aspek emotional support. / research conducted in the Netherlands found that as many as 39.7% of young adults experienced high loneliness. The results of another survey also said that in 2020 in Indonesia as many as 28.1 million people play online games. Young adults who like online games take advantage of online games, one of which is to overcome loneliness they experience by looking for activities and friendships to meet the needs of their affiliation. This study aims to determine the relationship between loneliness and the need for affiliation among young adults who play online games. This research is a correlational study using sampling techniques, non-probability sampling. The research instrument used the UCLA Loneliness Scale Version 3 and the IOS Scale. The results of this study show that loneliness is positively and significantly correlated with the need for affiliation, namely (r = .463, p = <.001). Furthermore, the correlation between loneliness and the need for affiliation aspect shows that loneliness is only significantly correlated with aspects of attention and self comparison aspects and loneliness also correlates with emotional support aspects.
