Abstract

Penurunan kemampuan motorik yang dialami lansia dapat dilatih dengan melakukan terapi yaitu salah satunya dengan terapi okupasi. Terapi okupasi pada lansia bisa dilakukan dengan melakukan aktivitas sehari-hari, aktivitas olahraga, aktivitas permainan, dan aktivitas seni. Terapi okupasi didukung dengan ruang yang di desain dengan prinsip-prinsip arsitektur perilaku sehingga dapat menjadi tempat yang nyaman secara fisik maupun psikologis bagi lansia. Teknologi Virtual Reality (VR) dapat membantu untuk menghasilkan ruang virtual yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan lansia dan untuk melakukan terapi yang interaktif dan eksploratif sehingga dapat melampaui keterbatasan karena penurunan kemampuan motoriknya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk dapat menghasilkan ruang virtual yang di desain dengan berdasarkan prinsip arsitektur perilaku yang dapat mendukung kemampuan motorik lansia. Metodologi penelitian yang digunakan berupa studi literatur tentang kemampuan motorik, terapi okupasi, arsitektur perilaku, dan teknologi VR. Interview terhadap lansia dilakukan untuk mengetahui profil dan aktivitas lansia dan juga persepsi ruang pada tempat tinggal, serta preferensi terhadap aktivitas dan lingkungan. Technical experiment dilakukan untuk menguji potensi VR untuk mendukung kemampuan motorik lansia. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan tiga proses prototyping yang masing-masing prototype ini didesain dengan menggunakan strategi desain yang didapat dari metodologi penelitian yang dilakukan sebelumnya. Pada prototype final terdapat empat massing yang masing-masing massing nya menjadi wadah untuk melakukan aktivitas untuk mendukung motorik lansia. Keempat massing ini didesain dengan menerapkan strategi-strategi yang telah didapat dan memiliki aktivitas yang berbeda-beda. Penelitian ini menghasilkan ruang virtual yang dapat digunakan untuk mendukung kemampuan motorik lansia dengan melakukan aktivitas terapi okupasi berupa aktivitas sehari-hari, aktivitas olahraga, aktivitas permainan, dan aktivitas seni di dalamnya. / The decline in motor skills experienced by the elderly can be improved through therapy, one of which is occupational therapy. Occupational therapy for the elderly can be done by training them to perform daily activities, sports activities, games, and art activities. Occupational therapy is supported by a space designed with behavioural architecture principles so that space can be a comfortable place physically and psychologically for elderly. Virtual Reality (VR) technology can help to produce a virtual space that suits the needs of the elderly and to conduct interactive and exploratory therapy, surpassing the limitations caused by their declining motor skills. The objective of this research is to produce a virtual space designed based on behavioural architecture principles that can support the motor skills of the elderly. The research methodology includes a literature study on motor skills, occupational therapy, behavioural architecture, and VR technology. Interviews with the elderly were conducted to gather information on their profiles, activities, perceptions of living spaces, preferences for activities and environment. Technical experiments were performed to test the potential of VR in supporting the motor skills of the elderly. In this study, three prototyping processes were carried out, each of which was designed using design strategies obtained from previous research methodology. In the final prototype, there are four massings, each of which is a place to carry out activities to support the motor skills of the elderly. These four massings are designed by applying strategies that have been obtained and offer various activities. This research produces a virtual space that can be used to support the motor skills of the elderly by carrying out occupational therapy activities in the form of daily activities, sports activities, game activities, and art activities in it.
