Abstract

Pada zaman sekarang, mempelajari sejarah menjadi suatu hal yang kurang diminati oleh para pelajar. Salah satu penyebabnya adalah metode belajar yang digunakan merupakan rote learning atau teknik menghafal. Linimasa, permainan kartu sejarah Indonesia, hadir sebagai salah satu perwakilan metode yang dapat menjadi alternatif sehingga pelajar dapat bermain sambil belajar. Namun, terdapat beberapa permasalahan visual dalam permainan ini, yaitu masalah secara form (tipografi dan tata letak), form-content (ilustrasi yang monoton, tidak representatif terhadap identitas tokoh dan peristiwa, serta tidak konsisten), dan form-context (keseluruhan visual permainan yang tidak sesuai target audiens). Perancangan ulang terhadap visual permainan kartu “Linimasa” dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengeliminasi permasalahan tersebut. Perancangan dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode Double-Diamonds, yang terdiri dari empat tahapan. Dimulai dari tahap discover, yaitu mengumpulkan data dan mengidentifikasi permasalahan. Berlanjut ke tahap define, yaitu menganalisis masalah dengan cara meringkas dan menuliskan hal-hal apa yang perlu diperbaiki. Develop, melakukan eksplorasi ide, mendesain, dan merancang prototype awal. Kemudian deliver, membuat hasil akhir perancangan sebagai upaya untuk mengatasi permasalahan. Hasil akhir perancangan berupa prototype akhir yaitu packaging, buku petunjuk, dan komponen-komponen permainan yang dapat dimainkan. Dengan hasil perancangan ulang visual ini, fungsi dari permainan kartu Linimasa dapat dirasakan secara maksimal, sebagai permainan kartu berbasis konten edukasi sejarah yang menarik dan mudah dimengerti oleh pemainnya. / Nowadays, studying history is something that students are less interested in. One of the reasons is the learning method used is rote learning or memorization techniques. Linimasa, an Indonesian historical card game, is here as a representative method that can be an alternative so that students can play while learning. However, there are several visual problems in this game, which are problems in form (typography and layout), form-content (illustrations that are monotonous, not representative of the identity of characters and events, and inconsistent), and form-context (game visuals that do not match the target audience). The purpose of this design is to eliminate these problems. The design is carried out using the Double-Diamonds method, which consists of four stages. Starting from the discover stage, which collects data and identifies problems. Proceed to the define stage, which is to analyze the problem by summarizing and writing down what things need to be fixed. Develop, explore ideas, design, and design initial prototypes. Then deliver, make the final design result as an effort to overcome the problem. The end result of the design is in the form of a final prototype: packaging, manuals, and game components that can be played. With the results of this visual redesign, the function of the Linimasa card game can be felt optimally, as a card game based on historical educational content that is interesting and easily understood by the players.
