Abstract

Frailty merupakan kondisi penurunan kesehatan fisik dan kualitas hidup lansia yang dapat ditangani secara optimal melalui aktivitas yang melibatkan pelatihan fisik dan peningkatan kesadaran (mindfulness) lansia secara bersamaan. Aktivitas tersebut adalah aktivitas kesenian yaitu ekspresi konektivitas tubuh dan pikiran melalui metode artistik. Aktivitas kesenian dapat ditingkatkan dengan lingkungan binaan dan desain yang sehat. Desain sehat dapat dicapai dengan arsitektur biofilik yang mengkoneksikan manusia dengan alam yang sangat penting untuk meningkatkan well-being manusia. Teknologi virtual reality (VR) menciptakan dunia baru yang tidak bergantung pada dunia nyata. Biofilik arsitektur dibutuhkan di dunia virtual untuk menekankan perasaan spasial manusia terhadap ruang dan alam. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkombinasikan arsitektur biofilik and virtual reality space untuk mengatasi kebutuhan well-being lansia dengan aktivitas physical-mindfulness di ruang kreatif virtual. Penelitian ini menggunakan 3 metode untuk menciptakan strategi desain ruang kreatif virtual. Pertama, studi literatur dilakukan: untuk mengetahui aspek ruang aktivitas kesenian; mengetahui elemen pembentuk prinsip arsitektur biofilik melalui studi preseden; dan mengetahui tahapan perancangan ruang virtual. Kedua, pengambilan data melalui survei pada lansia berusia di atas 60 tahun menemukan preferensi responden terhadap elemen pembentuk desain biofilik serta aktivitasnya. Ketiga, eksperimen teknologi dilakukan untuk mengoptimalkan workflow dalam menciptakan ruang virtual. Dari strategi desain yang telah dihasilkan, dilakukan eksplorasi bentuk alternatif ruang kreatif virtual. Prototipe ruang kreatif virtual kemudian dicoba oleh lansia untuk mendapatkan feedback. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ruang kreatif virtual dapat ditingkatkan dengan elemen arsitektur biofilik yang lebih mendekatkan individu ke alam. Selain itu, layout aspek ruang meningkatkan perasaan dan pengalaman melakukan aktivitas physical-mindfulness di ruang kreatif virtual. / Frailty, a condition of decreasing the elderly’s physical health and quality of life decreases, can be handled optimally through activities that involve physical training and increasing awareness (mindfulness) simultaneously. Such activities are creative art activities, the expression of mind-body connectivity through artistic methods. Creative art activities can be enhanced with the help of a healthy design. Healthy design can be achieved with biophilic architecture that connects human with nature which is very important for enhancing human well-being. Virtual reality (VR) technology creates a new world that is independent of the real world. Biophilic architecture is needed in the virtual world to emphasize human spatial feelings towards space and nature. This study aims to combine biophilic architecture and virtual space to address the elderly’s well-being needs with physical-mindfulness activities in a creative space. The method used 3 steps to create design strategies for the creative virtual space design. First, literature study was carried out: to determine the spatial aspects of creative art activities; determine the elements forming the principles of biophilic architecture through precedent studies; and determine the stages of virtual space design. Second, data collection through a survey on elderly people aged over 60 years found respondents’ preferences on biophilic design elements and the activities. Third, technical experiment was done to determine optimized workflow for creating virtual space. From the established design strategies, exploration of alternative forms of creative virtual space are done. Lastly, the creative virtual space prototype was tested by elderly for feedback purpose. The result of the study shows that creative virtual space can be enhanced with elements of biophilic architecture that bring individuals closer to nature. Furthermore, the spatial aspect layout enhances the feelings and experiences of doing physical-mindfulness activities in creative virtual spaces.
