Abstract

This thesis focuses on conducting a comprehensive comparative analysis of currency regulations pertaining to cryptocurrency transactions in three countries: Indonesia, the United States, and Thailand, with a specific emphasis on the legal aspects. The emergence and exponential growth of cryptocurrencies have necessitated the development of appropriate legal frameworks to effectively manage and govern these transactions, thereby ensuring the prevention of illicit activities and fostering regulatory clarity. To achieve the objectives of this research, a normative legal research methodology is employed. By utilizing these approach, a comprehensive examination of the legal recognition and regulatory frameworks surrounding cryptocurrency transactions in the selected countries is undertaken. This study reveal notable distinctions among the three countries in terms of their legal arrangements concerning cryptocurrency. These variations encompass areas such as legal recognition, regulation, and other related aspects. By critically evaluating the variations and similarities across the selected jurisdictions, this research contributes to a deeper understanding of the legal landscape surrounding cryptocurrency transactions in different jurisdictions. The outcomes of this study serve as valuable insights for policymakers, legal professionals, and stakeholders in the respective countries, aiding them in formulating effective and robust regulatory frameworks for cryptocurrency transactions.
